Equipment: STEERING GEAR SYSTEMBoth (P&S)rudders are to be dismantled, rudder stocks are to be lowered, and then placed for inspection. The rudder pressure test is to be carried out and shown to the surveyor. The condition of all the bushes/housing pipes is to be checked and shown to the surveyor for recommendations. After the necessary inspection/repair of the lower bush, stuffing box, gland, rudder, rudder stock, they are to be fitted back in position. The operational test is to be shown to the surveyor as per regulations. Potentiometer servicing is to be done.** Drawings attached for reference.

Equipment:PROPELLER & SHAFTINGInitial and final Clearance between the propeller shaft & bushes is to be taken. Both P&S propellers are to be dismantled along with accessories. Both propeller shafts (P&S) are to be drawn from the stern gear system and to be placed for inspection by the Surveyor. After Bushes (P&S), ‘A’ bracket bushes (P&S) are to be dismantled shown for inspection, for surveyor\"s recommendation. Propellers & Propeller shafts with all bushes are to be boxed back after necessary repairing, as recommended by the surveyor.Both propeller blades are to be cleaned/buffed, and polished. D.P.Test by IRS IRS-approved firm of propellers, shafts, and propeller cones is to be shown to the Surveyor’s satisfaction. ** Drawings attached for reference.
