| 1 | Supply, installation, testing and commissioning of maintenance free chemical earthing consisting of copper earthingprewelded electrode of 10 feet length, 17.2mm dia made of high tensile low carbon steel rod with 250 microns (average) molecularly bounded copper on the outer surface confirming requirements of UL-467 with exothermically joint together should be tested on 25 KA fault current with provision for connection clamp of size 150mm long, 5mm thickness with 12mm dia hole of 4 numbers for termination on top of copper bonded rod alongwith 60 Kg eco friendly earth enhancing compound with each earth rod including taking out unserviceable earthing pit. | 2 | Notes: The quoted rate shall also deemed to be included the following:(i) The description/ size / qty of items mentioned in above are for indicating only. However qty/ size may vary at site condition to maintain the earth resistance 1 ohm. The contractor shall quote rate by considering all factors.(ii) Rate of earth energizer compound of 25 Kg of 02 bags and earth resistance reducing liquid 10 litre per can for each pit deemed to be included in the quoted rate.(iii) Resistivity of earth energizer compound and resistance reducing earthing liquid shall be certified by any NABL accredited lab carried out as per IEC-62561-7 read with ASTMG57-06, CI-3.4A and the certificate of same shall be submitted by the contractor before commencement of work.(iv) Earth enhancing material should not leach into the adjacent soil or underground water channels and its PH valve should be in neutral range complete all as specified and as directed. It should solidify when mixed with water and set like concrete.(v) Copper strip of size 20x3mm should be fixed on proper post insulator at the instrument end (The rate of earthing strip upto 7.5m shall beincluded in the quoted rate). |
| 3 | (vi) The electrode shall carry manufacturer\"s name.(vii) Earthing shall be tested after completion of work by the contractor in presence of Engr-in-charge / JE E/M and proper record shall be maintened duly signed by all concerned. Earth test report shall be submitted to Garrison Engineer duly signed by all concern. After testing if the desired earth resistance of less than 1 Ohm is not obtained, the earthing will be redone at no extra cost till desired result is obtained.(viii) During the guarantee period, if earth resistance is not maintained less than 1 ohm the contractor has to redo or rectify at no extra cost to Govt till desired result is maintained.(ix) Earth resistance tester will be provided by the contractor. Tester should be calibrated from authorised company / lab.(x) The contractor shall submit a written guarantee of minimum three years for maintaining the earth resistance less than 1 Ohm after certified date of completion.(xi) No further maintenance or periodic watering or recharge shall be required in earthing during its guarantee period of over 03 years in all type of soil including dry or rocky soil. |
| 4 | (xii) A security deposit of value equal to 2.5 % of the rate quoted for chemical earthing per each earthing shall be retained from payment due to the contractor for the guarantee period.(xiii) The connection clamps shall be permanently welded to the copper bounded rod to avoid any kind of connectivity loss. The pre-welded copper bounded rod shall not need any additional clamp for termination.(xiv) The acceptable earth resistance at earth busbar/ test point shall not be more than 0.1 ohm.(xv) The contractor shall submit CPRI India certified document for copper bonded rod to ensure genuity of material.(xvi) Sign board of mild steel 2mm thick duly painted with two coats of synthetic enamel paint over a coat of red oxide Zinc chrome primer showing result of earthing should be fixed near the earth pit after completion as directed.(xvii) Earth work such as excavation , refilling etc., and making good the surrounding area shall be carried out in any type of soil. |
| 5 | Supply and fix for earth pit cover made of heavy duty poly plastic of high grade polypropylene tested and certified by any NABL accredited lab for load bearing capacity not less than 9.2 tonnes with top dia not less than 250mm, bottom dia not less than 330 mm and height not less than 260 mm dia for each electrode pit complete all as specified and as directed by Engr-in-charge.Make:Electrogrip Model. EGTEK3LC or techno commercially equivalent in ISG Global /SAFE TRODE/OBO Betterman/ ERICONote: The contractor shall submit load bearing capacity certificate from the manufacturer. |
| 6 | Material and labour for earthing with copper earth plate electrode 600x600x3.15mm thick burried directly in ground (earth pit not less than 2.25m below ground level) with top edge of the plate not less than 1.50m below ground level, connected with copper earth strip of size 20x3mm by means of bolts, nuts, check nuts and washers of copper and connected earthing testing point/ busbar including GI 40mm bore (dia) light grade protection pipe, earth plate surrounded by a packed thickness of charcoal or coke dust mixed with common salt magnesium sulphate (1:1:0.5) in alternate layers of not exc 150mm thick, PCC pit in cement concrete 1:3:6 (Using 20mm graded stone aggregate) and precast RCC cover slab of size 350x350x50mm in cement concrete 1:2:4 (Using 20mm graded stone aggregate), reinforced with 10mm dia TMT Bars @ 100mm centre to centre in both ways, GI wire mesh, funnel with GI watering pipe 20mm bore (dia) medium grade including necessary excavation in soft/loose soil, returning, filling in and removal of surplus spoil upto a distance of 50m and all as shown in Electrical Plate No. 3 of MES Schedule Part-I and Testing on completion complete all as specified and as directed by Engr-in-charge. |
