Data Logging:  Customized Logging: It should be possible to log data based on changes in Time, Voltage, and Cur-rent, and must be possible to use logical AND / OR conditions to customize data logging speed for each step of the test.  Data Security: Data should be logged in real time in an SQL or other robust database. Software:  Software Copy: Back copy of software should be provided in case re-install or install on new PCs is required.  Software Control Types: Constant Voltage, Cur-rent, Power, and Load;Current and Voltage ramps and staircase; Use of Mathematical Formulas for controlling the test;  Software Step Number: It should be possible to have at least 400 steps in a single test.  Software Control Conditions: It should be possible to add at least 4 or more step limits to control each step of the test and allow complex, conditional branching of tests.  Software Meta-Variables: User should be able to create a save 16 or more meta-variables during the test to reference later in the test.  Software Timers and Counters: 4 or more Timers and Counters should be available for complex test control. Safety:  Behavioral Safety Limits: In addition to standard voltage, current, power safety limits, system should have behavioral safety limits such as unusual beha-vior of volage or capacity readings.  Safety Limit Layers: It should be possible to create global safety limits for a test and specific safety limits for each step.  Safety Limit Control: Safety limits can stop a test or trigger periods of rest or cooldown and then resume.  Battery Profile: A battery profile should be as-signed to tests to automatically populate most safe-ty limits.  Redundant Safety: The test equipment should con-tain a redundant microcontroller to monitor safety limits.  Watchdog: Watchdog circuit should be provided to monitor internal system communication and look for errors.
