Bids Are Invited For Custom Bid For Services - Conducting Study, Recommendation And Submission Of Report For Providing Lightning Protection System In Mines Hiring of Consultants - Milestone/Deliverable Based (1) The work shall be carried out in all the Mines i.e. Mine –I, MineIA & Mine-II and Administrative office, Mine-I&IA, GVTC & Administrative office, Mine-II. (2) Carrying out Lightning risk assessment study in the mines & offices to calculate Exposure risk i.e. Expected number of lightning flashes per square kilometer per year as per IS-2309 or IS / IEC62305. (3) Details of lightning protection to be provided in the mines & offices mandatorily in places where the calculated Expected number of lightning flashes per square kilometer per year is more than 10-5 (1 in 100,000). (4) Details of lightning protection to be provided in the mines & offices in places where the calculated Expected number of lightning flashes per square kilometer per year is moderate of 10-5 (1 in 100,000). (5) Assessment of the power line, electrical, electronic & telecommunication devices at various locations for surge protection measures. (6) Details of lightning protection to be provided in places of mines & offices where, (i) Large numbers of people congregate (ii) Blasting operations are carried out (iii) Explosives are stored (iv) Overhead lines passing through the mine periphery (v) Pumping installations with continuous presence of operator or maintenance crew (vi) Top of OB dump yard, which are more vulnerable and liable to attract lightning with likelihood of injuring the persons employed there. (7) Details of lightning protection to be provided in places of mines & offices with Conventional air terminal (Franklin Rod/conductor) in Places with (i) 45o of Zone of protection (ii) 30o of Zone of protection in important places where dangers associated with lightning are more or which require fool-proof lightning protections (iii) Blasting site, places of people congregation, etc (8) Details of lightning protection to be provided in places of mines & offices with meshed conductor network or faradays cage by providing Electrostatic shielding using metallic wires in crisscrossed manner and grounding the same minimum at two independent places for protecting Total Quantity :
