4M & L for complete removal of existing painted old wood orwoodensurface of any description not othrwise described over 10cm width or girth and applying two coats of synthetic enamel paint over a coat of pink primer complete all as specified and directed.
5M & L for complete removal of existing painted old steel surfaces of any description exc 10 cm width or girth and applying two coats of synthetic enamel paint over a coat of red oxide primercomplete all as specified and as directed.
6Note for item No 4 & 5 :-(a) The synthetic enamel paint shall be of 1st quality manufactured by the standard firms of make as specified.
7(b) The contractor shall inform the GE, within three weeks of the acceptance of the tender, the brand/names of the manufacturers of paint proposed to be used in the works and submit samples thereof and obtain prior written approval of GE before their use in works.
8(c) The contractor shall when so required by the GE, produce certificate from the manufacturer or their representative to establish that the brands of paints purchased by the contractor from them, satisfy the requirements of the relevant Indian Standards. Tint of paint, will be approved by the GE.
9(d)Paints shall be obtained direct from approved manufacturer or from their authorized agents only of respective brands mentioned below and brought to site in sealed containers. The paint so procured shall be of first quality of any approved make as per list of makes specified. i. Berger Paints (Luxol), ii. Jenson & Nicholson (Brolac), iii. Shalimar Paints(Superlac), iv. Goodlass Nerolac (Nerolac), v. Asian Paints(Apcolite)
10(e )Unless otherwise specified the tints of paint shall be as approved by the GE
11(f) The contractor shall submit samples of the paints proposed for the work along with results of tests conducted in approved laboratory as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge for approval.
12(g) The surface shall be thoroughly cleaned and dusted. All dirt scales oil and grease shall be thoroughly removed before painting is started. The prepared surface shall be inspected and approved by the GE before painting is commenced. The weather shall not be foggy/rainy, dusty or windy. The suitability of the weather will be determined by the Engineer-in-Charge.
13(h) No hair marks from the brushor clogging of paint buddles shall be left on the work. Surface shall ordinarily not be painted until it has dried up completely. Trial patches of paint shall be laid at intervals to check if drying is satisfactory.
14M&L preparation of surfaces and applying reflective paint for Writing letters or figures (Block,Roman,Italic or Indian) n. exc 30 CM highcomplete all as specified and as directed.
15Repair to ends of chajjas/ parapets by removing old concrete,loose material ,&cleaning of the reinforcement and finishing the surface in cement mortar 1:3 , finished fair & even and making good with existing finishes all as specified and directed. Rate quoted by the tenderer shall be deemed to inclusive ofwater proofing compound.
16Note for item No 8 :- (a)The subject work is require to be executed in a bldg having height upto 12.50 mtr from natural ground level. Providing, fixing and erecting scaffolding in double face structure, as required along with approach system for the repairs / plastering of the buildings to facilitate execution of all items of works,complete with necessary support, propping system etc for external repair. The unit rate is deemed to be included this provision also.
17(b)The unit quoted rated deemed to included for removing plant/ up rooting of vegetation growth including roots on wall/ roof/ parapet near pipe etc.
18(c)The unit quoted rate deemed to be included for necessary safety equipments such as safety belt, ropes, helmets, netting etc mandatorily to be provided to labour working at height exceeding 3 mtr.
19supply only integral water proofing compoundcomplete all as specified and directed.Make ;- Dr. Fixit pidi proof or equivalent.
20M&L Preparation of old plastered surfaces ceiling and applying two coat of white washing on ceiling surfaces complete all as specified and directed.
21Note for item No 11 -: (i) The lime shall be slaked at site and shall be mixed and stirred with about five liters of water for 1 kg of unslaked lime to make a thin cream. This shall be allowed to stand for a period of 24 hours and shall then be screened through clean coarse cloth. 1 kg of gum dissolved in hot water shall be added to every one cubic meter of lime cream. About 1.3 Kg of sodium chloride dissolved in hot water shall also be added for every 10 kg of lime for making the coating hard and rub resistant. Small quantity of ultramarine blue (upto 3 gm per kg of lime) shall also be added to the last two coats of white wash solution and the whole solution shall be stirred thoroughly before use
22(ii) Application of Whitewash:-Whitewash shall be applied with ‘MOONJ’ brush or other brush to the specified number of coats. The operation for each coat shall consist of a stroke of the brush given from the top downwards, another from the bottom upwards over the first stroke and similarly one stroke horizontally from the right and another from the left before it dries. Each coat shall be allowed to dry before the next coat is applied. No portion of the surface shall be left out initially to be patched up later on. The brush shall be dipped in whitewash, pressed lightly against the wall of the container and then applied by lightly pressing against the surface with full swing of hand
23(iii)Whitewashing on ceiling should be done prior to that on walls.
24M&L Taking down cement plaster on brick or stone walls, or concrete or ceilings etc., including raking out joints, hacking for key, scrubbing down with water, etc., including removal of rubbish off the premises, removal and depositing serviceable materials where directed and leaving the work clear of any plastering and material completeall as specified and directed.
25M & L for 15mm thick rendering in two layers onbrick or stone or concrete surfaces,first coat 10mm thick in cement mortar 1:4 and 2nd coat 5mm thick in cement mortar1:4 mixed with water proofing compound as per manufacturer instructionsfinished even and smooth without using extra cement completeall as specified and directed.
26M & L for 15mm thick rendering in CM 1:6 onbrick or stone or concrete surfaces finished even and smooth without using extra cement completeall as specified and directed.
27Note for Item No 14 :- (a) Water proofing compound shall be measured and paid seperately.
28(b) The unit rate quotedis deemed to include for removal of accumulated earth of any width and depth upto 15 cm cleaning/cutting the grass with hand operated petrol/kerosene driven grass cutting machine and removing the grass waste around 3 m from plinth protectionto outside MD land.
29(c ) Cost of scaffolding required deemed to be included in the quoted rate of item and nothing extra shall be admissible on this account.
30M&L Preparation of new plastered surfaces wallApplying two coats of cement based paint over and including a coat of primer, of any description, complete all as specified.
31Note for Item No 15 :-(i)Before applying cement based paint ,the surface shall be thouroughly wetted to control surface suction. The surface shall be moist but not dripping wet when the paint applied .Surfaces which readily absorb moisture shall be wetted in one operation not more than one hour before painting.Surfaces which absorb moisture slowly shall be wtted in at least two operations not less than 30 minutes apart.
32(ii)To maintain a uniform mixture and to prevent segregation ,the paint shall be stirred frequently in the bucket.
33(iii)Painting surfaces shall be cured as soon as paint has hardened so as not be to damaged by the spray about 12 hours after the applications.
34(iv)Cost of scaffolding required deemed to be included in the quoted rate of item and nothing extra shall be admissible on this account.
35(v)Paints shall be obtained direct from approved manufacturer or from their authorized agents only and brought to site in sealed containers. The paint so procured shall be of any approved make as per list of makes specified.
36M&L Preparation of new plastered surfaces wallapplying two coats of OBDover and including a coat of primer, of any description, complete all as specified.
37M&Lfor complete removal of existing treatment of old plastered surfaces wallapplying two coats of OBD over a coat of alkali resistant priming paint complete all as specified and directed.
38Note for item No 17 :-(i): surface shall be thoroughly cleaned by mechanical means and approval shall be taken fromengg in charge before application ofalkali resistant primer.
39(ii) . Not less than 24 hours shall be allowed between two coats and the second or subsequent coat shall not be started until the preceding coat has become sufficiently hard to resist marking by the brush being used. In hot dry weather the preceding coat shall be slightly moistened before applying the subsequent coat.
40(iii)Paints shall be obtained direct from approved manufacturer or from their authorized agents only and brought to site in sealed containers. The paint so procured shall be of any approved make as per list of makes specified.
41Preparation of old decoratedplastered or unplastered surfaceof wall, chajja, balcony, facia etc., brooming down or steel wire brushing down smoke soot, moulds mass, efflorescent, trading, oil, greasy spots and applyingone coat of whitewashcomplete all as specified and directed.
42Preparation of old plastered or unplastered surfaceof ceiling brooming down or steel wire brushing down smoke soot, moulds mass, efflorescent , trading, oil, greasy spots and applyingone coat of colour wash complete all as specified and directed.
43Note for Item No 19 :-Colour wash shall be applied with ‘MOONJ’ brush or other brush to the specified number of coats. 57Note for item No 22:-(a) The Exterior emulsion paint shall be of 1st quality manufactured by the standard firms of make as specified.
58(b) The contractor shall inform the GE, within three weeks of the acceptance of the tender, the brand/names of the manufacturers of paint proposed to be used in the works and submit samples thereof and obtain prior written approval of GE before their use in works.

65Complete removal of existing treatment of any type/description such as distempering work, internal emulsion etc from internal surfaces of walls & ceiling with mechanical means/ grinder,then applying wall care putty on internal surfaces of walls/ceilings as required for desired smoothness and levelling of surfaces by using ready made wall care putty including sand papering and after filling the putty apply two coats ofplastic emulsion over a coat of primer complete all specificed and as directed.
66Note for item No 23:-(a) The plastic emulsion paint shall be of 1st quality manufactured by the standard firms of make as specified.
67(b) The contractor shall inform the GE, within three weeks of the acceptance of the tender, the brand/names of the manufacturers of paint proposed to be used in the works and submit samples thereof and obtain prior written approval of GE before their use in works.

76Note for Item No 24 :- (i) Surface will be throughly cleaned and approval of engg in charge will be taken before application of paint.
77(ii)Paints shall be obtained direct from approved manufacturer or from their authorized agents only and brought to site in sealed containers. The paint so procured shall be of any approved make as per list of makes specified.

88Note for Item No 26 :- (i)Surface will be throughly cleaned and approval of engg in charge will be taken before application of paint.
89(ii)Paints shall be obtained direct from approved manufacturer or from their authorized agents only and brought to site in sealed containers. The paint so procured shall be of any approved make as per list of makes specified.
90(iii) . 98Note for item No 28 & 29 :-(a) All synthetic enamel paint, plastic emulsion paint shall be of 1st quality manufactured by the standard firms of make as specified.

106Removing plant/Uprooting of vegetation growth including roots on wall/roof/parapet/Shaft portion , near pipes etc and applying acid treatment afterremoving roots for preventing regrowth and making good disturbed surfaces/area in superficial area exc 150sq.cm but n.exc 400 sq.cm and averaging depth not exceeding 10 cm by using PCC 1:2:4 type B-0 (using 12.5 mm graded stone aggregate) or 10mm thick plastering in cement mortar 1:3 as required and finishing the surfaces to match with the existing surface complete all as specified and directed.
107Note for item No 31 :- (a) Rate quoted by the tenderer shall be deemed to inclusive of double steel scaffolding.
108(b)Contractor shall provided safety gears to his workers at his own cost and safety precaution to avoid accidents.
109Complete removal of existing surface in shaft portion that includesbushes ,plants,tree roots, mould moss, oil grease etc.with steel scrubber . The surface shall than be broom to remove all dust and dirt and shall be clean with clear water and applying two coat of cement based paint over one coat of white wash complete all as specified and directed by engr in charge.
110Note for Item No 32 :- (i)All unsound portion of the surface plaster shall be removed where directed to full depth of plaster in rectangular patches and replasterwith CM 1:4 and finish the surface even and smooth without using extra cement
111(ii) Rate quoted by the tenderer shall be deemed to inclusive of double steel scaffolding.
112(iii)Contractor shall provided safety gears to his workers at his own cost and safety precaution to avoid accidents.
113M&L Preparation of old painted brick, stone, concrete, or plaster surface of any description not otherwise described over 10 cm width or girth and applying one coat of synthetic enamel paint using mechanical means complete all as specified and directed.
114Note for item No 33 :-(a) All synthetic enamel paint, plastic emulsion paint shall be of 1st quality manufactured by the standard firms of make as specified.

119(f) The contractor shall submit samples of the paints proposed for the work along with results of tests conducted in approved laboratory as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge for approval.
120(g) The surface shall be thoroughly cleaned and dusted. All dirt scales oil and grease shall be thoroughly removed before painting is started. The prepared surface shall be inspected and approved by the GE before painting is commenced. The weather shall not be foggy/rainy, dusty or windy. The suitability of the weather will be determined by the Engineer-in-Charge.
121(h) No hair marks from the brushor clogging of paint buddles shall be left on the work. Surface shall ordinarily not be painted until it has dried up completely. Trial patches of paint shall be laid at intervals to check if drying is satisfactory.
