Physical inspection of the equipment, structures, electronic system from the lightning protection point of view. Plotting of lightning protection zones in the Rig layout. Review of the existing lightning protection system against National and International standards and correction and addition in the system to comply with applicable standards along with risk analysis. Lightning Protection System Adequacy audit with emphasis on calculation of Expected number of lightning flashes per square kilometer per year as elaborated in IS-2309 or IS/IEC-62305 for all structures and survey including collection of Site data, Risk Assessment calculation for ascertaining risk & resultant protection level and arriving at Bill of Quantities for those structures which require external and internal protection against Lightning. Study of maintenance aspects of lightening protection and suggest suitable corrective actions in existing system if any.
