Casting of 8.50 m long pre-stressed concrete pole in ratio of 2.78:1.19:1 with hard stone ballast (20 mm downgraded), coarse sand (F.M. 1.8 to 2.5) and cement by dry volume in steel moulds as per technical specification including cost of all labour, material, i.eanchor barrel, anchor grips required for proper completion of work, but excluding 43 grade OPC Cement, 4 mm dia H.T./G.I. wire (8 S.W.G.),T&P which is to be made available by the department free of costas mentioned in technical specifications, but including cost ofmaintenance and repair of departmental T&P for smooth operation. The size of pole and other details has been shown in the drawing enclosed.The following operation are to be performed :- a. Thoroughly cleaning, oil smearing of steel moulds (diesel and grease shall be provided by the contractor).b. Alignment of moulds.c. Placing & tightening of end plates with nuts and bolts.d. Making and placing of required number of rings in the moulds as per drawings.

e. Placing of H.T. wire coil in proper position, unwinding and drawing through desired holes of anchor plates and end plates of moulds as per drawing.f. Placing H.T. wire in anchor barrel and grips on outer faces of both the anchor plates as directed by the engineer in charge/site engineer.g. Tensioning of H.T. wires to a tensile stress of 1750 Kg/cm2 each (H.T. wire of 4mm dia) Tension Tower made available at site by the department as T&P (Strain Should be given as per test report made available by the manufacture of H.T. wire.) h. Placing 8 S.W.G. G.I. wires in position as per drawing.i. Binding ofH.T. wire, G.I. wires and rings at proper place with the help of24 S.W.G. G.I. wires. (Binding wire should be supplied by the contractor’s at own cost).j. Placing lifting double hooks made of 2x450 mm long H.T. wire at two locations as per drawing.k. Fixing of clamps at proper position to restrict the movement of upper edges of moulds.

l. Providing cement concrete mix in moulds as per technical specification and vibrating the same as per instruction of engineer in charge/site engineer.m. Engraving desired identification mark on exposed face of PCC poles as per direction of Engineer-in-charge before final setting of concrete.n. Casting 3 Nos. cubes from different batches of concrete on each casting day along with appropriate marking as per direction of engineer-in-charge.o. Curing of poles and cubes with jute bags or any suitable arrangement approved by engineer in charge as per technical specifications for the period of up to which casted pole is shifted to curing tank. Cutting of wires and shifting of poles to curing tank must be done within 72 hours otherwise total cost of poles or Rs. 3,000.00 per pole shall be deducted from contractor’s bill. If the contractor fails to carry out proper curing at any stage the same shall be done by the department debatable to the contractor @ Rs. 500.00 per day.p. Releasing of nut & bolt of end plates and shifting of end plates to proper position.

q. Cutting of H.T. wires by electric welding rods or as directed by engineer in charge/site engineer. (welding rods to be supplied by the contractor)r. Removal of clamps, removal of poles and cubes, there shifting from moulds and placing them in curing tank as per direction of engineer-in-charge including writing the number of poles and date of casting of the poles kept in each tank.s. Filling of water tank and submerging all poles to ensure proper curing.t. De-watering of water tank after minimum 18 days curing of last entered pole in the tank u. Taking out poles from curing tank, shifting and stacking them at location as directed by engineer in charge with marking face in upward position using spacer to be provided by the department free of cost.v. Providing labour and making proper arrangement for testing of poles as and when required as per instructions of engineer in charge, including taking out the desired poles from the stack, shifting the same to the testing platform, making necessary arrangements for testing and stacking of tested poles at location as directed by engineer in charge including breaking of testing pole and taking out H.T./G.I. wire and also disposal of rubbish as per direction of engineer-in-charge.w. Material Consumption per pole – (cement – 1.55 bags, h.t. wire – 11.90 kg, g.i. wire – 0.80 kg, coarse sand – 0.063 M3 , stone grit – 0.146 M3 , anchor barrel – 1/6 nos. and anchor grip – 1/3 pair)
