MODIFICATION & ERECTION OF SS TRUCK UNLOADING TANK
2
MODIFICATION & ERECTION OF SS TRUCK UNLOADING TANKWork Involves: The scope of the work involves the modification of the SStank to shorten its height and its erection. The contractor shall collect and transport necessary tools and tackles from the Tool Crib to the Worksite. Before beginning the modification, a thorough site assessment must be conducted, necessary permits secured, and safety measures implemented.Accurately mark the section to be removed as per the drawings/instructions of the Officer-in-Charge.Plasma cutting will then be employed to precisely cut the designated section of the tank.Once the section is removed, edge preparation must be carried out to ensure a clean and accurate fit for rejoining.Rejoining of the two halves shall be done by TIG welding. To prevent distortion during cutting and welding, temporary structural supports and reinforcement braces must be installed at critical points to stabilize the tank throughout the process.Transportation of necessary structurals and plates to the worksite from the Stores/Plant area for fabrication of the temporary structures falls under the scope of the contractor.Following shell to shell welding, post-weld inspections such as radiographic testing (All T joints & 10% of Total) must be conducted to verify joint integrity. After transportation of the Tank to the PAT area, erection at the PAT site falls under the scope of the contract (Transportation of the tank is not in the scope of this contract). The tank shall be erected properly at the location as per the drawings/instructions of the Technician/Officer-in-Charge.To ensure operational reliability, hydrostatic leak testing will be performed to confirm that the tank is leak-proof and capable of withstanding pressure requirements. In addition to this, the contractor must also provide and install manholes, inlet and outlet nozzles as per the approved design drawings.Manhole dummy fabrication also falls under the scope of the contractor.During the modification process, any unwanted nozzles, drain lines, and pipe connections in the existing tank must be identified, cut, and sealed to ensure a clean, functional final structure.Shortening of the inspection ladder attached to the tank also falls under the scope of the contract.Compressor for plasma cutting & Scaffolding shall be arranged by the contractor. The scope of this contract also includes the transportation of dummies and flanges to and from the workshop, as well as their handling within the workshop

REPAIR OF WELD JOINTSWork involves: Collection of required tools and tackles from the Tool Crib and tranport it to the worksite. If a joint is found to be defective during the leak test, the contractor must immediately carry out necessary repairs. This includes grinding out the defective weld, performing proper edge preparation, and re-welding the joint using TIG welding.Work to be carried out only after obtaining clearance from the concerned department.Hydrostatic testing will then be repeated to verify the leak-proof quality of the joint and ensure compliance with pressure requirements.
4
CUTTING AND STACKING SS PLATEWork involves: Collection of required tools and tackles from the tool crib and tranport it to the worksite.Detach the stiffeners from the removed section, and further divide the cut sections into smaller segments according to the drawings or instructions provided by the Technician or Officer-in-Charge.These cut pieces shall be stacked properly in the designated locations.Plasma cutting shall be employed for the cutting of the SS Plates.
