The RMU tank shall provide full insulation, making the switchgear insensitive to the environment with degrees of protection of IP67. The switch gear operating mechanism shall have an IP2X protection and cable chamber shall have IP3X. The outer enclosure should be IP 54 type tested should be powder coated with pure polyester based paint, suitable for the site installation conditions. Accidental over pressure due to an internal arc is limited by the opening of the safety valve, at the bottom of the metal enclosure, away from the operator, plug in type of extensibility must be provided and coupling busbar should not be exposed to air to avoid oxidationof busbars. Extension of cubicle should only require 450mm to handle and the gap between the coupled RMUs must be within 10mm. Each of the Ring main unit shall comprise of the followings :- |

There will be no automatic reclosing. | 16 | Notes for BOQ item No. 7 to 9:-(A) RMU degree of protection shall be IP54 for outer enclosure and IP 67 for SF6 tank.The make of vaccum interrupter will be the same make as the make of Ring Main units. Ring main units shall be manufactured by OEM.(B) An operator situated in front, lateral and rear (A-FLR 21kA - 1 sec downwards exhaust, for tank as well as cable compartment) of the RMU switch board during an internal fault will not be exposed to the effects of arcing. Internal arc type test report for IAC AFLR 21kA for 1 sec for both tank & cable box should have been for minimum 3way/3 function RMU.(C) All operations shall be from front of the RMU, including access to cable bushings. Bushings along the sides or the rear of the RMU shall not acceptable.(D) The rate for making foundation for RMU of size as per recommendation by manufacturer and the cost of excavation, brick work, concrete, steeletc.(if any)shall deemed to be included in the quoted rate. The drawing for foundation as per manufacturer design & shall be approved by GE. (E) The drawings in respect of RMU shall be approved by Accepting Officer through GE and as & when requested by contractor before placing order to manufacturer.(F) RMU shall be tested by representative of Accepting Officer at factory premises before dispatch as & when requested by contractor.(G) The testing and commissing after installation of the RMU shall be carried out in presence of Senior Electrical Inspector as & when requested by contractor.(H) The cost of all above factors deemed to be included in quoted rates. |
