The item includes all leads, lifts, crossing of Tracks, handling, rehandling, transportation of Rails within 5Km from NTPC store/ permanent way materials from Contractor’s store to the site of work, pairing of SWP/ Single Rail, straightening of rails, drilling of holes, chamfering holes in Rails and cutting of Rails (if required), paint marking of correct sleeper spacing on gauge face of base Rail, painting, writing of station numbers on curves 10m apart on the inside web and foot of the outer Rails, realigning the same including fixing steel curve boards on approaches of the curve fixed at tangent point on the outside of the curve, duly painted with curve details as per direction of Engineer in charge, greasing/ oiling of fish plates and fish bolts as per IRPWM Para 241, providing correct expansion gaps, according to temperature at the time of installation.Sleepers spacing shall be suitably adjusted as per direction of Engineer in charge. The fish plated joint shall conform to relevant RDSO standard drawing. The item includes fixing of rubber pads with approved Adhesive, fixing of GFN Liners / Metal Liners and ERC, greasing of ERC as per IRPWM Para 1411(5)a with Graphite grease specification IS 408-1981-GR \"\"O\"\". The item includes transportation and spreading of stacked PSC Sleepers. The item excludes cost of PSC Sleepers, glued joinls/ insulated joints, welding, testing of welded Rail joint, fixing of check rails for curves and level crossings. These will be paid for separately under relevant items provided in the schedule. New Rails required for the work shall be provided by NTPC Rihand store. Glued joint, welding and check Rails shall be paid under relevant items, Item also includes laying and linking of track with 60 Kg rail (SWR/Single rail) on Ballasted deck Bridge and Plate Girder Bridge. For laying and linking of tracks over such bridges, Steel Channel Sleepers will be provided by NTPC-Rihand Note :- (1) Fish plates & its bolts and clips will be paid separately against relevant Items of schedule.\" |

| 9 | Handling, lifting, loading, unloading, leading, and spreading stacked track ballast in two layers including light rolling of bed to a uniform level by using 5 to 10 Ton light rollers (minimum two passes) for preparation of ballast bed of required thickness for giving ballast cushion of 350mm. The ballast shall be lead from existing stacks to the proposed alignment of the track and spread there to make ballast bed for the track including subsequent making up of ballast cushion after linking, packing of track as required to make proper ballast profile on straight or on curves including ballast in shoulders and cribs as a complete job. Quantity of ballast as used in track shall be paid for as per measurement of Stacked Ballast. All lead lift, ascent-descent, crossing of nalleh, track etc. are included in this item. |

The bitumen emulsion used shall conform to IS : 8887-1978 (Cationic Type) using Bitumen (A-25)conforming to IS 73 : 1961. The thickness of the Bituminous concrete layer may vary slightly as directed by the engineer so as to adjust longitudinal and cross levels besides alignment of track on the apron. The contractor will ensure that the longitudinal and cross levels and the alignment of track laid on this Bituminous concrete layer is within the laid down tolerances for finished track. Quoted Rate shall include the cost of handling / placing in position of concrete sleepers. |

The rails are required to be transported by contractor’s own transporting arrangement from the stacks of rails available at NTPC Rihan#d store to the site of works for fabrication/manufacture of check rails etc and after getting manufactured /fabricated by approved manufacturers/fabricators the same will be transported to site of works for linking by the contractor. The item includes all transportation. |
