| 3 | Excavation & Backfilling in all types of ordinary & hard soils including hard murrum for exposing the pipeline for lowering including de-watering the excavated pits necessary shoring, strutting including backfilling, stacking selected excavated material for backfilling and/or disposing outside the premises of IOCL as per Special Conditions of Contract, Technical Specifications and directions of the Engineer-In-Charge. The depth of excavation shall be up to 5m and existing pipeline shall be made clear off at least 2.8m to 0.8m underside the pipeline for lowering purpose. The depth may vary due to bund/ heap of earth present on ROW land. Back filling shall be only allowed with soft soil with restoration of site to earlier stage including positioning of top soil. Only manual excavation shall be permitted around pipe (around 400mm distance from pipe surface) |
| 4 | Refurbishment of Coating & Wrap of pipeline with cold applied tape in case of coating is found damaged as per procedure (IOC will supply Coating & wrapping materials). |
| 5 | Supply & providing Sand bags as a support snuggly fit under the pipe before lowering with the help of hydra crane, side boom, etc. at every 10.0m distance and lowering the pipeline by puncturing the sand bags and with the help of Hydra/ Side Boom as per Technical Specifications & as per directions of the Engineer-In-Charge. The pipeline shall be lowered as per calculation in accordance with latest edition of API-1117 (Movement of In- Service Pipeline) and approved by the Engineer-In-Charge. |
