29Providing and constructing Gabion structure for erosion control, river training works and protection works with polymer wire crates of sizes each divided into 1.00 mtr compartments by cross netting mesh opening size 150mm x150mm made from 9mm polymer rope (PP) having weight of 40grm/m with a tolerance of + or - 8% 1560 kg breaking strength (min) and after 1000 cycles of abration the rope shall be subjected to tensile test as per IS:7071 (Part-IV)-1986, which shall be more than 85% of the original breaking strength of the rope, the crates shall be filled with boulders with least dimension of 200 mm, all loose ends to be securely tied with 9 mm polymere wire as per the specification of standard specification of gabions and as per the direction of the Engineer.
