Sl. No. Item Description
1General Notes 1. The site of proposed work is at Yelwal, Mysuru, Karnataka and is approachable by bituminous road. 2. As it is a under construction work in which part of the work is completed and part of the work needs to be done under the scope of this tender, it is advised to visit site before bidding. 3. Minor work such as cleaning, hacking, scraping, cheaping, cutting of projected metal pices, removal of stucked shuttering pices, attending snag points etc. shall be done and no seperate payment shall be claimed in lieu of these minor works. 4. Extra depth of plastering or cheaping werever required to get an even surface shall be done and no seperate payment shall be claimed in lieu of this. 5. All the items of substructure includes the cost of dewatering wherever neccesary during the progress of work, till its completion without any extra cost to the Department. Tenderers are advised to visit the site of work to acquaint themselves about the level of subsoil watyer, drainage facility for dewatering, accessibility to the site etc. and quote the rates accordingly. Blasting or chemical blasting or other methodsare not permitted. 6.Security measures to be followed by the contractor: i) The contractor should submit police verification certifcate of all workers and staff deployed on regular basis and list of such workers and staff vetted by site Engineer should be submitted to RMP-BARC Security at RMP plant site along with necessary application to allow them to enter in premises to carry out the assigned work. ii) You shall follow all safety rules & security procedure that are in vogue and applicable during execution of work. You are requested to verify the character and antecedents of the labourers employed by you, through local address proof issued by competent authorities such as ration card, driving license, electricity bills, telephone bill, gas connection document etc. The nationality of contract labourers also needs due verification. 7. The contractor shall obtain necessary pass for labours engaged in this work after induction training from departmental safety section. 8. All the debris etc. shall be cleared from site and clearance for the same shall be obtained from safety section before claiming the final bill. 9. PPC/ Blended cement of recommended brand shall only be used for all masonry and finishing works unless otherwise specified. 10. Quoted rate shall hold good for plain/ curved/ any other geometric shapes & sizes of all structural/ RCC members including formworks, masonry, flooring, doors & windows, plastering, paintingetc. at all leads, levels, lifts and floors including scaffolding, bracing, multilevel staging etc., unless otherwise specified. Nothing extra shall be entertained towards wastages of materials, additional labours / tools & plants etc. to achieve the required shapes & sizes etc.
211. The tenderer shall provide barricade consisting of MS angle / pipe posts, runners,bracing & corrugated GI sheet of approved colour for a height upto 3m to separatethe working area, maintaining the barricade in good condition including removing the same after completion of the work without any cost to Department. Prior written approval of Engineer in Chargeof the sketch / drawing showing details of barricading shall be obtained by the contractor . 12. Vehicular movement shall abide by the regulations imposed by the concerned authorities. The contractor shall abide by the security rules & regulations of the Department. The approach roads should be kept clean & free from obstruction for smooth functioning. 13. While transporting materials from site, and disposal of surplus materials, the spilled over materials / earth / debris etc. on the road should be got cleaned by the contractors after the day"s work is over. 14. The drawings issued for tender purpose are preliminary and indicative only. The working drawing shall be issued in phased manner at the time of execution. Nothing extra shall be entertained towards revision in drawings. 15. Electricity: Contractor has to make his own arrangements for power supply for construction purpose. 16. Water: Contractor has to make his own arrangement for water and quality of water subject to approval of engineer in charge. 17. Suitable area near site of workshall be allocated to the contractor for storing construction materials, site office etc. Optimum care shall be taken by the contractor to avoid disturbing the traffic and road around the building etc. 18. The schedule of quantities include contingent works forother services. Accordingly the contractor shall carry outall related works such as making cutouts, nitches, pipe sleeves, foundation pockets for foundation bolts, embedded platesetc. in concrete / brick works as and when required by Engineer in charge withoutany extra cost to the Department. 19. Wherever sand is mentioned, the same may be manufactued sand satisfying the requirements of Indian Standard Code (IS). 20. Civil items required for PH, Electrical, Fire Fighting Works etc shall be paid under relevent Civil Items. 21. The sizes of natural stones/ tiles mentioned for flooring, dado, skirting etc are approximateand subject to the availability in market during execution. If the required size is not available the next higher size of the tiles/stone shall be used without any extra cost to the Department.
3Notes for PART I-B : SUPER-STRUCTURE (STRUCTURAL item no. 17 to 18): i) Super structure items included in this schedule pertains to all the works above plinth level upto roof including parapets, water tanks, machine room, terrace level works etc. unless specified otherwise. Notes for RCC Works a) All RCC works shall be controlled concrete unless otherwise specified and shall be carried out strictly in accordance with the drawings, specifications and as directed by the Engineer in Charge. b) The water tank work shall be as per IS3370-2009 latest edition c)The rates for RCC works shall be exclusive of cost of reinforcement and form work unless otherwise mentioned. d)All coarse aggregate to be 20mm maximum size and uniformly graded unless otherwise mentioned. e)For all RCC items, the rates quoted shall include the following without any extra cost to the Dept. i) Spacers to maintain clear cover for reinforcement. ii) Fixing at correct level and in proper alignment the inserts, pipe sleeves, pipe bends, fan hooks, other pipe specials etc.supplied by/ through the Department. iii)Cut out in slabs, construction joints etc. f)Test for concrete shall be done as per IS 456-2000 and the cost of the same shall be borne by the contractor
4Notes for PART - I-C : FORM WORK (item no 19) : i) For double/ multi stage shuttering design calculations and details / drawings for scaffolding shall be submitted by the contractor well in advance. Prior written approval of form work shall be obtained from Engineer in Charge, before commencement of work. ii) Area of form work in contact with concrete shall only be measured for payment and stop boards for construction joints will not be measured for payment. iii)The rate of formwork shall include all type of structural / RCC elements and all geometric shapes including circular and any other curved surfaces at all level and floors including single/multiple staging etc.
5Notes for PART - I-E : MASONRY WORK (item no 21 to 22) (a)The contractor shall get approved the samples of bricks from the Engineer-In- Charge before procurement on large scale and shall maintain the same for the entire work. (b)Necessary Openings/nitches/cut-outs, wherever required as per drawings and asked for by the Engineer-In-Charge, shall be provided by the contractor without any extra cost. c) One brick wall thickness shall be considered as 230mm and half brick wall as 115 mm and lesser wall thickness if any shall be made up to the required dimensions by the contractor in CM 1:4 to proper line, level and plumb without any extra cost to the Department. d) The rate shall include cost of making the brick masonry to all geometrical shapes and sizes without any extra cost to the Department.
6Notes for PART -I-F : FLOORING WORK (item no 23 to 28): a) The floor finish level shall be generally in level matching with the surrounding floor finish level & as per drawing. No extra payment shall be entertained for matching the floor differences. b) Adjustment of levels in thickness of mortar bedding due to different types of flooring, if any, shall be done by the contractor without any extra cost to the Department. c) The contractor shall submit and get approved the sample for flooring, skirting, dado tiles from Engineer in charge before bulk procurement. d) Pattern & design of flooring/ skirting/dado shall be approved by the Engineer in charge before commencement of work. e) Exposed edges of all natural stones used for the works like Kotah, Marble, Granite etc.shall be machine cut and shall have uniform thickness and mirror polished unless otherwise mentioned. f) The rate shall include cost of making the flooring to all geometrical shapes and sizes without any extra cost to the Department. g) All Kota stone work shall be mirror polished to get high gloss finish and the rate shall be inclusive of the same in the respective item. h) Wherever dissimilar floor finishes are placed adjacent 3mm thick x 25mm wide aluminium flat dividing strips shall be provided by the contractor without any additional cost to the Department. i)The sizes of tiles mentioned are approximate and subject to the availability in market during execution. If the reuired size is not available the next higher size of tiles shall be used without any extra cost to the Department. The tenderer may note the same and quote accordingly.
7Notes for PART I-G : DOORS AND WINDOWS (item no 29 to 33) : a)The items of door frames, window frames shall include sealing the joints all round with the brick work /concrete and doors or windows with approved mastic filler cement grout/ epoxy compound /polysulphide compound or by any other means whatsoever, by the contractor at his own cost as directed by the Engineer-in-Charge to make the joints watertight. b)The work contemplated under the item for supplying and fixing the window/door frames shall be got done by the contractor through specialised agencies in the field, approved by the Department. c)One sample each of the door frame, shutter and window with all fittings and fixtures along with locking arrangement including glass panes etc. complete as per schedule of quantities drawing and specifications should be submitted for preliminary inspection before procurement on large scale. The contractor shall submit six copies of shop drawings for windows, ventilators and steel door with frames showing dimensional details of construction etc. for approval of the Engineer-in-charge. After preliminary inspection, the sample should be fixed. Defects etc.if any shall be rectified to the full satisfaction of the Department and after obtaining formal approval in writing of Engineer in charge. d)Door frames, shutters and the windows to be supplied and fixed in position should cater the dimensional tolerance of the openings to an extent of (+/-) 2%. The rates quoted by the Tenderers should hold good for such variation. Test shall be conducted by the Department for the flush doors as per IS-2202-1983 Part-I from each consignment and the cost incurred on this account shall be borne by the contractor. e)For bonding the flush doors, block boards, ply wood and all types of wood works, phenol- formaldehyde synthetic resin type adhesives conforming to IS-848-1957 shall be used. f)The rate shall include cost of making the doors & windows etc. in all geometrical shapes and sizes without any extra cost to the Department.
8Notes for PART : I-H : FITTING & FIXTURES (item no 34 to 35): i)One sample board consisting of each item of schedule of quantities with approved quality fittings & fixtures & necessary accessories including chromium plated brass screws, bolts, nuts, washers should be submitted for approval of Engineer-incharge. Large scale procurement shall be taken up only after approval of the Engineer-in-charge. After approval, the samples shall be kept in the office of the Engineer-in-charge to ascertain the approved quality for the entire work. ii)All fittings & fixtures shall conform to relevant IS code.
9Notes for PART - I-I ~ WATERPROOFING TREATMENT (item no 36 to 37): a) The contractor shall get written approval from the Engineer in Charge, for the water proofing agency engaged and shall submit the specification of the waterproofing before commencement of work. b) The contractor shall test the surface where water proofing treatment is provided for bone dry condition by filling up with water. No wet patches or leaks shall appear on the surrounding wall or under side of the slab c) The contractor shall furnish guarantee bond on appropriate stamp paper in the proforma as per Section 10 (iii) of Conditions and Clauses of Contract - 2008 for the entire waterproofing treatment for maintaining the surroundings and under side surfaces of the waterproofing treated area in bone dry condition for 10 years. During the guarantee period the contractor shall attend all leakages, defects etc. if noticed, free of cost, starting the work of checking up and rectification within a week"s time from the date of intimation about such leakages/defects. d) The Contractor shall keep the water tank filled with water after the water proofing work has been completed and shall clean it before handing over. At no time shall the water tank be kept empty. Testing for the bone dry condition for the water proofing work carried out shall again be done, before handing over the Building/flats, if found necessary by the Engineer in Charge.
10Notes for PART I - J : PLASTERING WORK (item no 38 to 40): a) Before commencement of plastering, the area shall be cleaned, wetted and shall be marked with "Thiyyas" or "Tapanis" and shall be got approved by the Engineer-in-charge. b) Whenever the electrical contractor/ agency has to fix up switch boxes in walls, necessary Thiyyas or "Dhadas" shall be arranged prior to plastering so that the electrical boxes are fixed properly in line with the finished plastered surfaces. c) Finishing around the junction boxes shall be done at all floor, level and position to the line, level and right angles as required while carrying out plastering work. d) No extra claim/cement consumption shall be entertained by the department for the plastering done more than the specified thickness shown in the schedule of quantities, to bring the plastered surface to perfect line, level and plumb with adjoining columns and beams.
11Notes for PART : I-L ~ MISCELLANEOUS WORKS (item no 44 to 48) : One sample of each item should be submitted for preliminary inspection and approval before procurement /manufacturing on large scale. After the preliminary inspection and approval, the sample should be fixed at site or kept in the office of the Engineer-in-charge till completion of the work.
12Notes for PART II :Public Health Engineering works (item no 49 to 75) : 1)Tenderers are advised to visit the site of work, acquaint themselves about the levels of sub soil water, drainage facility for dewatering, accessibility to site etc. and quote the rates accordingly. 2) All PH materials, water supply, sewer, sanitary wares & CP brass fittings & fixtures, etc., shall be of first quality with ISI mark ( unless otherwise specified ) and shall be of the make as per the latest approved list of manufacturers of DCSEMas well as shall be of make as per the latest approved list of materials oflocalStatutory body if required. They shall be got approved by the Engineer- in- charge before incorporating in the work. 3) All sanitaryware shall be provided from same brand. 4) All CP fittings / Fixturesshall be provided from same brand. 5)All the items of work which are to be carried out below the ground level involving earthwork excavation, the contractor shall bear the cost of Shoring / dewatering during the progress and till the completion of work. 6) The rate for the items such as sanitary wares, CP brass fittings, GI / CI / PE / PPR / CPVC / uPVC / SWR pipes which are to be fixed on the walls / dado,floors etc. includes the cost of fixing materials and matching colour cement required for reinstating the surface to the entire satisfaction of the EIC. 7) All the items include testing after completion of the Work. 8) In case of any item, in spite of its non - availability in the tender is required to be operated under a particular part of schedule of quantities, the same shall be paid under the similar / relevant item of any other part. 9) Concealed / underground GI pipe line is to be wrapped with Pypekote corrosion protection tape. 10) The excavated / transported materials shall be stacked at convenient places before spreading, filling & compacting at required locations. 11) Support pedestals at terrace will be paid under relevant civil item. 12) All thermoplastic piping at terrace after completion, testing and commisssioning of work shall be painted with water based distemper to avoid direct exposure to sunlight. No extra charges will be paid for the same.
13NOTE FOR INSPECTION CHAMBER & MANHOLE i) Depth of Inspection chamber shall be the vertical distance from the top of the frame & cover of manhole / chamber to the outgoing invert of the main drain channel. ii) The internal diameter / sizes of inspection chambers & manholes mentioned in the item shall be measured from finished plastered surfaces. iii) The cost of 1:2:4 grade concrete and plastering with CM 1:2 for fixing frame & cover is included under the scope of work of item for providing Everlast Cover iii) Slope of 1:6 for benching shall be started from channel of depth equal of the outgoing sewer diameter. iv) The slope of conical wall of manhole and longitudinal walls of rectangular Inspection Chamber starts from the vertical height of 200mm from top of frame and cover. v) While making payment for extra over initial depth, the thickness of RCC frame & cover and the thickness of cement concrete bed block (bearing course) shall not be deducted from the depth of manhole or chamber.

Nominal Reinforcement if provided shall be measured & paid under relevent item.
24P C C 1:3:6 grade in bed concrete to pile caps, foundations, pedestal, encasing etc.
25P C C M-15 grade in sub base flooring,foundation in pedestals, cable pits, cable trenches, plinth protection, encasing etc. Notes for Reinforced Cement Concrete i) Cement for structural works shall be OPC/PPC ISI marked and duly approved by the Engineer-in-charge ii) PPC/blended cement of ISI marked shall only be used for finishing works on prior approval of Engineer-in-charge iii) All RCC work shall be controlled concrete unless otherwise specified and shall be carried out strictly in accordance with the drawings and specifications. iv)The rates for RCC works shall be exclusive of cost of reinforcement and form work unless otherwise mentioned. v) All coarse aggregate to be of 20mm. maximum size & uniformly graded unless otherwise mentioned. 6. For all RCC items, the rates quoted shall include the following without any extra cost to the Department. a)Spacers to maintain clear cover for reinforcement. b)Fixing at correct level and in proper alignment the inserts, pipe sleeves, pipe bends, hooks, other pipe specials etc. supplied by / through the dept. c) Making cutout whereever required including cutting the form works etc. d)Test for Concrete shall be done as per IS 456-2000. and the cost of the same shall be borne by the contractor.
26Reinforced Cement Concrete of grade M-30 in foundation and plinth at all levels and locations conformining to I.S. 456-2000 and 13920 latest edition, using 20mm. maximum size down graded stone aggregate including machine mixing, conveying, placing in position, mechanical consolidation, finishing, curing etc. all complete as per specifications and drawings and as directed by the Engineer in charge, for the following.
27For all type of Structural / RCCelements with all geometrical shape and sizes
28Extra for providing RMC (Ready Mixed Concrete) confirming to IS : 4926(latest) in lieu of conventional RCC and PCC items supplied by approved RMC manufacturs for all type of structural elements/ RCC/ PCC elements including transporting, pumping etc. complete as per instruction of the Engineer in charge. i) The contractor shall obtain prior approval for RMC manufacturer from Engineer in Charge in writing. ii) The rate shall apply for all levels and locations including all type of structure etc. iii) Extra for RMC in lieu of conventional RCC and PCC of any grade mentioned elsewhere in shall be measured and paid under this item for substructure works.
29Providing, erecting, fixing in positionstriking / removing and cleaning steel / timber shuttering & centering for form work in foundation plinth at all locations for all geometrical shapes in plain,curved surfaces of structural / RCC elements including chamfers, splays, keys, wedges, props, rails, bracings, brackets, cutting holes for pipes etc., providing & applying approved form oil on all surfaces of form work coming in contact with concrete including close hacking of all exposed concrete work after removal of form work, where plastering to be done, including all materials, labour etc. all complete as per specifications, drawings and as directed by the Engineer-in-charge. i)Area of form work in contact with concrete shall only be measured for payment and stop boards for construction joints will not be measured for payment. ii) The rate of formwork shall include all type of structural / RCC elements and geometric shapes including circular and any other curved surfaces.
30Reinforcement for RCC work including supplying, delivering, storing of various diameters as required at site of work including loading, unloading, transporting, decoiling, straightening, cutting, bending, placing in position at all locations & levels and binding with 18 gauge, soft drawn annealed steel binding wire including carrying out various tests as required etc. all as per specifications, drawings & as directed by the Engineer in charge.
31Thermo Mechanically Treated bars of gradeFe-500 D manufactured by SAIL, TATA STEEL and RINL only. The cost of binding wire shall be borne by the contractor and binding wire shall not be measured for payment.
32Brick masonry work in foundation and plinth,cable pits, trench, steps etc. using well burnt bricks from approved lot, of class designation 5.0 (classification as per IS 1077-1992 and min. average compression strength not less than 5.0 N/mm2) in C.M 1: 6 to correct line, level and plumb including raking out joints/simultaneous flush pointing with cement mortar 1:4, curing etc.complete as per specifications, drawings and as directed by Engineer in charge. i)One brick wall thickness shall be considered as 230 mm & lesser wall thickness if any shall be made up accordingly by the contractor by applying cement mortar of mix 1:4 in proper line, level & plumb without any extra cost to the department. ii) The rate shall include cost of making the brick masonry to all geometrical shapes and sizes without any extra cost to the Department. (iii)The contractor shall get approved the samples of bricks from the Engineer-In-Charge before procurement on large scale and shall maintain the same for the entire work iv) Necessary Openings/nitches/cut-outs, wherever required as per drawings and asked for by the Engineer-In-Charge, shall be provided by the contractor without any extra cost.
33Cement plaster of following thickness in single coat over concrete / masonry surfaces in CM 1:4 at all levels, finishing smooth with neat cement to correct line, level, plumb and curing etc. complete all as per specifications, drawings & as directed.
3412 mm thick on concrete surfacesincluding hacking.
35Extra for providing ready mixed plaster (RMP) in lieu of conventional plaster of thickness mentioned below at all height and location in single / two coats as per specifications of like M/s. Ultratech Ltd. / M/s. Roofit/ or other approved equivalent including transporting, loading, unloading, mixing at site and apply as per manufacturer"s specification all complete locations complete as per instructions of Engineer-in-Charge.
3612mm thick in single coat for internal brick / concrete surface
37Disposing off the all surplus excavatedmaterials by mechanical transport to the near by dumping pits/ dumping areas inside site upto lead of 3.0 km including all leads, lifts, loading, unloading, stacking, spreading, levelling etc. complete as per drawings, specifications & as directed by the Engineer in charge. Voids @ 20% for soils and 50% for soft rock/hard rock shall be deducted from fully loaded truck measurements to arrive at the net quantity for payment in case direct measurement is not possible.
38Providing and laying dry rubble stone hard core soling of following consolidated thickness in sub base to floor and in plinth protection to required levels and lines with first quality rubble, hand set, well packed including filling the interstices with smaller stone chips of approved quality, supplying & finishing / blinding the surfaces with approved blinding quality murrum/ stone dust including watering, consolidation etc. complete as per specification drawings & as directed by Engineer in charge.
39150mm consolidated thickness.Quoted rates shall include the cost of filling materials of smaller stone chips and murrum/stone dust etc.
40Supplying and spreading pesticides chlorpyriphos or other chemical approved by central insecticides board as directed by the manufacturer and spraying the mixture uniformly by sprayer as pre-construction anti- termite treatment at the rate of 7.5 liters per sq.m. on vertical and 5 ltrs. per sq.m. on horizontal surfaces (or as directed by the manufacturer ) within the trenches, 50% of the emulsion to be filled in the holes made in trenches at 150mm. centre to centre etc. complete as per IS 6313 Part-II. All above operations to be done in order and as directed and specified by the Engineer in Charge.

163Constructing brick masonry Inspection chambers of internal sizes 900 X 600mm at bottom and 900 X 450mm at top for an initial depth of 600mm consisting following items of work. i) 230 mm thick brick masonry in cement mortar 1:2 over 150 mm thick bed in cement concrete of grade 1:2:4 with 150 mm offset all-around, tapering of longitudinal walls starting from the height of 450 mm from the top of chamber frame & cover and tapering of longitudinal walls ending at the height of 200 mm from the top of frame & Cover to obtain an internal dimensionof 900 X 450mm at 200 mm from top of chamber. ii) 20 mm thick plaster in cement mortar 1:1 mixed with water proofing compound @ 2% by weight of cement on internal and external surfaces, internal surfaces and top finished with a floating coat of neat cement. iii) Making benching and haunching in cement concrete of grade 1:2:4 and finishing with floating coat of neat cement. iv) Fixing frame and cover at top using cement concrete of grade 1:2:4 (for bed block / bearing course and capping) and cast iron steps / foot rests, all as per specification and as directed by E-in-C. NOTE:- Providing & fixing foot-rests / steps and CI / RCC / Composite frame & cover including CC of grade 1:2:4 & C.M 1:2 plaster for fixing the frame and cover, will will be paid under relevant item/ included in other relevant item.
