For determining the bursting strength of woven or knitted fabrics and non-woven fabrics by application of a pneumatic load under a rubber diaphragm of a specific area. ? The instrument should be with reference to the international test standard ISO 13938-2/IS 1966-2 ? The diaphragm shall be 2 mm thick, with an expansive range and of elastic type within the range of height at burst ? Test area of varying ranges: 7.3 cm2 (30.5 mm diameter), 10 cm2 (35.7 mm diameter), 50 cm2 (79.8 mm diameter), and 100 cm2 (112.8 mm diameter) should be capable ? Digital display showing the height at burst up to 70 mm and accuracy ± 1 mm ? The instrument should be capable of producing an increase in air pressure to achieve a testing time to burst of 20 ± 5 seconds with an indicating control valve in addition to the main air valve ? A provision for clamping the test specimen without distortion or damage, or slippage should be present in the instrument ? The instrument should have the means to measure the Burst pressure in kPa and height at burst in mm. ? Supplier must be provided calibration certificate of the instrument ?
