6MOBILISATION
7Mobilization of hydraulic boring and drilling rig with suitable casing up to desired depth, other in-situ test equipment, personnel etc. for carrying out investigations on land and demobilization on completion of work and removal from site.
8FIELD INVESTIGATION
9Setting up of boring rig at each borehole location including moving between borehole positions, locating, and marking the location on the ground by actual survey (by using precision position instruments such as GPS and Total Station), setting up all field test equipment and bringing all personnel to the location, making area good for setting up rig etc. complete all as per the IS Specification and as directed by Engineer. Any criss-cross or back and forth movement of the rig can take place. No additional compensation will be paid for such movements. The break-ups for 40 Nos Boreholes of 20m and 15m depths (Total 650 RM)are given below:
10Boring vertically through all kinds of soils, weathered rock, and soft rock with suitable and adequate equipment of diameter 150mm or 200mm, for depths as measured below existing ground level at rig location etc. all as per the IS Specification and as directed by Engineer:
110-10mThis shall include collection of disturbed samples at every change in stratum and preserving the same in airtight container with proper labelling for conducting required laboratory tests.
1210-20m This shall include collection of disturbed samples at every change in stratum and preserving the same in airtight container with proper labelling for conducting required laboratory tests.
13Drilling vertically through boulders and hard rock strata using NX size diamond bit, usingtriple tube core barrel with suitable core catcher, including collection and logging of cores, placing them in wooden core boxes in a proper sequence, numbering each core etc. all as per IS Specifications for the following depths measured from existing ground level. Item includes all the handling charges and dispatching of the core’s boxes/ samples to store/ laboratory etc. all as per the IS Specification and as directed by engineer in charge. Note: Experienced geologist shall supervise the core logging and shall also describe the rock in their fresh condition with presence of discontinuity, fracture etc.
140-10m
1510 - 20m
16Obtaining 100 mm diameter 450 mm long undisturbed soil samples at every 3m interval up to 10 m depth or at change of strata alternate to SPT from boreholes and sealing and labelling the container. In case of UDS sample could not be extracted for a depth that shall be replaced with SPT for the respective depth as per drawing, IS specification and as directed by Engineer.
17Conducting Standard Penetration Tests (SPT) in soil, soft and weathered rock at 3m intervals or at every change of strata alternate to undisturbed sampling and collecting the disturbed sample. Packaging and labelling the disturbed soil as per drawing, IS specification and as directed by Engineer.
18Conducting Field Permeability Tests (FPT) in borehole at specified depth as per layer encountered during progress or as per drawing, IS specification and as directed by Engineer.
19Collecting ground water samples from boreholes at specified depth including all provision of sampling, packing, sealing, and labelling as specified and including handling charges etc. all as per the IS Specification and as directed by Engineer. Water samples shall be collected in a five-litre polythene or glass container and shall be labelled, preserved, and sent to the laboratory for chemical analysis.
20Conducting Field California Bearing Ratio (CBR) test as per specified depth or at a depth of 500mm below natural ground level at soaked condition all as per the specification and as directed by Engineer.
21Excavating 3.0m x 3.0m x 3 to 4m deep trial pits at the locations specified by the Engineer in charge including visual inspection for description of the strata encountered and backfilling the trial pits to make the area clear after inspection and collecting soil and water samples at 0.5-1m intervals for analysis, including mobilisation of all the necessary equipments, excavation and inspection for soil classification including providing necessary shoring, side-slopes etc complete. Collecting site photographs (at least two nos. for each pit from different direction) of the strata encounter and enclosing the same with the report etc., carrying out field density test, all as per the specification and as directed by Engineer.
22Conducting Eletrical Resistivity Tests (ERT) by Wenner’s four electrode method as per IS 3043. The tests at each location shall be conducted as a series of tests with the distances between the electrodes as 1.5m, 3m and 6m each on either side along each row axis etc. all as per the specification and as directed by Engineer. Note: Test shall be considered completed and shall be count as one number only if it is conducted in all 8 directions
