79Supply, installation, testing and commissioning of maintenance free tripod earthing system consisting of 3Nos. vertical electrodes and 10m of 25x3mm copper strip interconnected with earth electrode of UL listed tested for 250micron copper bonded low carbon steel core of 3m long, 17.2mm dia buried directly in ground and tapered at the bottom (150-175 dia digging or auguring of earth to the required depth as directed) along with a 20mm dia perforated PVC/GI watering pipe and filled up in bottom with slurry 3kg plain bentonite for moisture and based earth enhancing compound in slurry from 30kg bag 01No and arrangement for connection of copper strip (20x3mm) to rod by means clamp rod to flat clamp of size 25mmx3mm to the electrode tested for minimum 76% IACS, copper earth strip connected by means clamp, provision of polymer chamber with cover, including necessary excavation in any type of soil, returning, filling in, removal of surplus soil, the rest of the ore shall be fitted with well compacted earth and top of the bore shall be finished with 40mm thick PCC in 1:2:4 type B1 over 75mm thick PCC in 1:4:8 and back fill/JAM compound shall be covered with advance polymer pit cover of size 30mmx30mm incl taking down of old one complete all as specified and as directed.
80Notes for BOQ srl Item No. 69.00:- (i) The earthing shall comply to IS 3043, UL 467, BS/EN50164-7 (ii) In the event of failure in achieving the strict and desired earth resistance required, the earthing made shall stand futile / void and shall not be quantified for any payment purpose. (iii) To obtain earth resistance less than 01 Ohm, if a combination two or more earthings are to be inter-connected or the length of the electrodes is/are to be increased it shall be measured and paid as one earthing only (iv) Testing of earth shall be carried out in presence of Departmental rep and requisite test reports shall be submitted (v) Cost of all excavation & earthwork required shall be deemed to be included in the quoted rate (vi) The quoted rate shall be deemed to be inclusive of these above laid aspects and criteria
81M&L for earthing complete with galvanized steel earth plate electrode 600 x 600 x 6 mm thick buried directly in ground (earth pit not less than 2.25 mtr deep below normal ground level) with top edge of the plate not less than 1.5 mtr below normal ground level,the earth electrode surrounded by adequate quantity of charcoal dust and salt to a packed thickness of 15cm on all side and including connected to and includinggalvanized earth lead strip 32 x 6 mm size upto 7.5 mtrs long by means ofnuts and bolts, check nuts and washers of GI and connected to earthing test point and earth dollyall as shown in electrical plate No 3 of MES SSR part I and testing on completion includingnecessary excavation and earth work in any type of soil,PCC(1:3:6)type C1 chamber,pre-cast RCC slab 50mm thick in cement concrete (1:2:4),type B1,reinforced with welded steel wire fabric or XPM,(weight not less than 4 Kg per Sqm) with cast iron frame,funnel with watering pipe 20mm dia medium grade,wire mesh and lugs,GI protection pipe,40mm dia,light grade,7.5 mtr long for protection of earth lead upto test point etc incl taking down of old one complete all as specified and as directed.
82Notes for serial item No. 71.00: (i) Any variation in length of earth lead and protection pipe of earth lead shall be adjusted through DO. (ii) On testing if the desired earth resistance is not obtained, entire earthing shall be re-done by contractor/ till desired earth resistance is not obtained without accruing any extra cost to department. (iii) The chamber shall be constructed atleast 1.5 mtr away from the earth electrode.
