51Clean and carry out visual survey of all sea tubes, sea chest forinternal corrosion, pittings and cracks etc. (i) Sea tubes graded critical during the preceding refits are to be ultrasonically surveyed and repaired as per instruction. Pressure test repaired sea tubes/sea chest..
52(ii) Restore complete paint scheme of all sea tubes (inlets & discharges)
53(iii) Clean boiler blow down sea tube and carry out survey, using NDT techniques to detect cracks, excessive pittings, pin holes etc.Measure and record thickness, if feasible. Repair/Renew asnecessary. Pressure test repaired sea tubes.
54(iv) Visual survey of 25% of sea tubes (as indicated by SS) post removal of valves. Endoscopic survey of remaining 75% of sea tubes may be carried out.
55Survey of 04 in nos twin bollards is to be carried out. Renew if required.
56Survey of 06 in nos single bollards is to be carried out.Renew if required.
57Survey, examine mushroom heads . Check foundation, nuts and bolts. Ease and grease valves for smooth operation.
58Survey of towing hook to be undertaken and load test to be carried out.Renew wire rope if required.
59(i) Examine structure not covered by lagging or deck coverings, paying particular attention to decks, deck boundaries and lower areas of ships side, bulkheads (ensuring all limber holes are clear) and areas around side scuttles. Portable or semi portable fittings that obscure structure are to be removed for examination of structure behind. Structure revealed by the removal of semi -portable fittings is to be recoated as per approved paint scheme before the fittings are replaced.
60(ii) Thoroughly examine exhaust ventilation trunking and any areas liable to be in contact with acid. Where acid resisting composition on structure has deteriorated, clean by hard scraping and wire brushing followed by washing with dilute caustic soda solution and then fresh water. Thoroughly dry these exposed surfaces and recoat. Thoroughly examine lead lined sinks and bench tops for fracture or wear.NOTE: - Caustic soda is on no account to be used for cleaning intact paint surfaces.
61(iii) Clean all bilges using a tank-cleaning vessel or approved chemical method. Clean out all limber holes and drain holes. Examine structures not covered by lagging, paying particular attention to position where water is likely to accumulate such as bilges, junctions of longitudinals with side platings and machinery bearers with bottom plating, horizontal surfaces such as tank tops, horizontal stiffeners and structure obscured by cable plating. Portable fittings that obscure structure are to be removed for examination of structure behind. Carry out surface preparation in accordance with NO 53/16 and Recoat the damage paint.
62(iv) Check the condition of the vibration mounts.
63(v)Examine lagging and raise specific defects as necessary to repair damaged lagging. SS to renew paint scheme of affected areas before renewal of lagging.
64(i) Examine entire brake assembly including brake lining, brake shoe, brake disc and associated fittings. Renew brake lining and shoe if excessively worn down.
65(ii) Survey all wire ropes, spare gear and other associated lifting gears. Renew as necessary.
66(iii) Carry out load testing with the davit fully rigged up. Period of test not to exceed 27 months.
67(iv) Record Volt/Amps/Speed parameters of davit and associatedsystems during load test. Record load test details.
68(v) Post load test, examine the complete davit structure and associated lifting gears for flaws, distortion, deflection etc. Flaws must be examined by NDT techniques, Carryout repair as necessary and record retest result.
69(i) Empty the gearbox oil and refill it with new gear-oil up to its level.
70(ii) Lay out all cables. Survey cable and fittings (an experienceddockyard blacksmith is to assist at this survey.) Clean out cablelocker. Examine structure paying particular attention to the vicinity of cable clench (eye hook).
71(i) Check clips for looseness and wedge pieces for signs of wear.Renew leather washer or toroidal sealing rings where necessary.Chalk test door seatings. Renew rubber seating where necessary.
72(ii) Carry out chalk test of all W.T doors.

92Life Raft- Life raft securing cradles corroded and perished. To be renewed as per BR 67/09 and as specified in Para 4.1.6 of the SOLAS code.
93Life Raft- Serviceability checks of Hydrostatic release mechanism which includes HRG and HammerH 20. Renew if found defective.
94Life Raft- Webbing straps to be renewed as per BR 67/09.
95Open the bolts, check smooth operation, refit and paint.
96Lifting system and its foundation to be checked. Renew and replace if necessary.
97(i) Remove marine fouling from the hull using wooden scrapers or hydro jetting with maximum pressure not exceeding 3000 PSI.
98(ii) Scrap and clean under water and boot topping area (including wind and water areas) to remove all loose paint film, rust etc. Wind and wear areas to be considered up to 500 mm above boot top.
99(iii) 100% under water hull to be visually surveyed. Structure graded critical during the preceeding refit is to be surveyed with the help of ultrasonic equipment. Particular attention is to be paid to the hull plating in the vicinity of propellers, shaft, brackets fitting up to the rudder head, boot top areas (including wind and water areas), inlets/outlets and areas in the vicinity of keel which rests closely on dock blocks for sign of corrosion and damage i.e. breakdown of paint, dent, pinholes, cracks, etc. Indentation on the shell plating be closely examined taking into consideration the effect on the structural strength and eddy raising current. The permissible limits of distortion/indention on the plates. NOTE:- All structure likely to become \"critical\" and \"critical structures\" are to be inspected by dockyard to determine the cause, and to ensure that the corrosion protection (paint and cathodic) is adequate, or have not broken down. Dockyard to ensure that adequate remedial action is taken to overcome the cause.
100(iv) Excessive areas of break down of abrasive anticorrosive paints to be blasted and recoated with full paint scheme. Paint scheme on full underwater hull and boot top including wind and water areas i.e. area up to 500 mm above boot top area is to be restored.
101Tyre fenders damaged at 36 various places (Aft Big size- 09 Nos, Fwd and both sides - 27 Nos. Fenders to be replaced.
102Fenders to be replaced along with securing chain of length 3.5 mtrs for each tyre fender and 04 shackles for securing each. Qty - 36
103Cleaning, surface preparation and painting of following area as per existing paint scheme with application of primer and Jotun paint: -(a) External hull under water area below water line

On completion, of painting, each tank should be inspected to ensure that the coating/ paint film completely covers the surface, with particular attention to parts of the structures which are not readily visible.
129(d) The minimum time for filling the fresh water tank if freshly coated should be 7 days. The tanks should be washed out with fresh water and any sediment or dirt present should be removed and the covers are closed before the tanks are brought into use.
130(e) The water sample from the tank after 72 hours of immersionshould be sent to NMRL or the Naval Dockyard laboratories forpotability test prior to use of water for drinking purpose.
