| 1 | Retrofitting of 1600KW main drive motor in Ball Mill-003 and 005 by replacement of motor base frame, alignment of motor with gearbox .The following jobs will be involved: a)Study of the existing motor assembly in Ball Mill: 003 and 005 located in 02 Area of Alumina Refinery, NALCO Damanjodi & the spare motor assembly to determine the type of retrofit job required to make the new system as good as the existing one in terms of electrical and mechanical performance. Retrofit jobs to be done on the stated equipment, i.e., BM-003 and 005 and type of jobs involved can be assessed by taking references from similar type of retrofit work carried out on BM-004. b)Before dismantling of motor, the gap between the coupling of motor and fluid-coupling, existing alignment readings, all reference points of motor foundation with the fluid coupling, etc., which will be needed while installing a new motor of different mounting motor frame, should be measured & suitably marked at site. Weight of the overall motor assembly is: 14.6 MT. Overhead crane will be made available c)Removal of existing motor by unbolting of foundation which include removal of radiator of the motor, disconnection of the power cables , earthlings from motor and further shifting the motor including vehicle for transportation will be in the scope of NALCO. Overhead crane will be made available for the dismantling job. Dismantling of pedestaland shifting the pedestal to the nearest store is to be done by the Vendor as per instruction of Engineer-in-Charge.. d) Necessary dismantling work of motor base frame in the existing motor assembly as required which may include chipping out the existing concrete foundation & unbolting off the grouted bolts so as to remove the existing motor foundation frame. Grouted bolts should remain in place and will be used to fasten new base frame of motor. The unthreaded portion of the grouted stud will be filled with iron block. Shifting of the dismantled foundation frames to designated location to be done by the contractor as per instruction of Engineer in Charge. e) Cleaning of the concrete surface, leveling of frame base by removing undulated portion of concrete base. Fixing of new motor base frame to the location, leveling of new frame, blue matching of total base frame of motor, inserting required size base shims wherever necessary including supply of required shims, tools & tackles. New base frame of motor will be made available at site & overhead EOT crane can be used for handling of the base frame. f)Reinforcing the frame with cement up-to required height so that original rigidity of base is restored (NALCO will supply cement & do only concreting under the supervision of the contractor).Any deviation in fitment of base frame at site should be suitably corrected by the contractor without disturbing the original foundation. g) Fixing of a new 1600 kw, motor to the new motor frame, leveling, blue matching and alignment with the Gear Box/fluid coupling in accordance withIS:325.15,IS:12075:1987,Table:1IS:900:1992 of HT motor . Motor with coupling will be made available at siteby NALCO. Weight of the motor:12 MT.Cable rerouting from existing position to new motor terminals ,Clamping, fabrication of support etc will be in the scope of the vendor. End termination willbe in the scope ofNALCO. h)No load de coupled trial run of motor after returning shut down, removal of all tools & tackles from site, measuring vibration reading & no load current. Vibration reading of point No: 1 & 2 of motor should not exceed 4.5 mm/sec(H), 4.5 mm/sec(V) & 4.5 mm/sec(A). In case measured vibration reading exceeds the limit value, necessary correction to limit the vibration of motor to the mentioned values, should be in the scope of the contractor. i)Coupling the motor with Gear Box, fixing of coupling cover, modification of coupling cover if required . j)Trial run of motor with load, measurement of vibration reading & current .Necessary correction so as to limit the vibration reading below 4.5mm/sec(H), 4.5 mm/sec(V), 4.5 mm/sec(A). In addition to above , all other jobs which will be required to complete the retrofit of new 1600 kw in all respect at site are included in the scope of work of the contractor. |
