Apart from the confirmity with the grading and quantity requirement of invidual ingredients exhibited above the mix aggregate i.e.coarse and fine aggregate for Bituminous concreteshall meet all requirements set forth clause 507 of MORT & H specifications.i) The final grading for the aggregates required for Bituminous concreteconfirming to table 500.17 of MORT & H specifications shall be determined after getting theBituminous concrete designed from Punjab PWD, B&R Research Laboratory Patialaafter obtaining 60 %of material. The design mix so finally approved shall be termed as the approved mix. Theaggregates shall be hydrophobic and of low porosity. Theaggregates shall satisfy the physical requirement set fourthin table 500-6 (addendum to latest revision).iii) The approved mix shall exhibit the following details, source and location of all material: - (a) Binder expressed as percentage by weight of total mix. (b) Course expressed as percentage by weight of total mix.(c) Crushed bajri expressed as percentage by weight of total mix.(d) Final aggregate expressed as percentage by weight of total mix. (e) A single definite percentage passing each sieve for mixed aggregates.(f) Density ofbituminous concrete after compaction will be not less than 2.35 gm/CC. |
