All work of rock cutting by blasting shall be carriedoutbytakingallnecessaryprecautions againstsoilerosion,damage to hill side, water pollution, etc. and to protect stability of hill side. Rock shall be excavated with chiseling and wedging out rock(where blasting isprohibited). Allearth work in cutting/excavation, including rock excavation shall be carried out true to lines, grades, side slopes, width, camber, super-elevation and level asshownonthedrawingsorasdirectedby the Engineer-in-charge, in conformity with the requirementoftechnicalspecification for Rural Road,August, 2004andclause1603.1 and 1603.2ofGeneral Conditions for Contract to achieve designed formation width including hauling and stacking of useful material for construction at suitable sites and safe disposal of unsuitable cut materials in specified manner, trimming, filling of unevenness, blindage and finishing of the road to specified dimensions or as directed by the Engineer-in charge for smooth riding. Any loss to the public and private property during the course of excavation shall be the absolute responsibility of the contractor, which shall have to be duly compensated by him in all cases. Recovery for stones whetherusefull or notfor 225.20 Cum @ Rupees 170.00 (OneHundred seventy only per cubic metre ) shall be done on prorata basis from each running bill of this item. |
