Silt Content Must Be Less Than 4.0 %. Shape: Grain Shaped. Texture: Coarse Textured. The Sand Should Be Free From Any Impurities Such As Iron Pyrites, Alkalis, Salts, Coal Or Other Organic Impurities, Mica, Shale Or Similar Laminated Materials, Soft Fragments And Sea Shells. The Sand Also Confirms The Specifications Of Is 2116 ( 1980 ) : Sand For Masonry Mortars - Specification – Reaffirmed 2002 And Shall Be Got Approved From The Engineer-In-Charge. , Kapchi / Stone Aggregates - Coarse Aggregate Shall Be Of Machine Crushed Stone Of Black Trap Or Equivalent And Be Hard Strong, Dense, Durable, Clean And Free From Skin And Coating Likely To Prevent Proper Adhesion Of Mortar. Aggregates ( Kapchi ) Should Be Cubical In Shape And Shall Have No Deleterious Reaction With Cement. Size Of Aggregates Should Be Of 20 Mm Or As Decided By Officer In Charge.
