Sump Tank (S.S.) – (1.0 – 2) m length, (700 – 7500) mm width, and (300 – 350) mm height. Centrifugal Monoblock Pump – Single phase 0.5 HP capacity. Control valves and drain valves made of Gunmetal. G.I. Pipe line, Strong M.S.Stand. , Free & Forced Vortex Apparatus - Forced Vortex Apparatus: A pointer gauge (40- 45) cm long to measure the depth of vortex formation at various points. The system is closed circuit type contains sump tank, collecting tank, supply tank, pump, motor, pipe line. Free Vortex Apparatus: A sump tank fabricated with (1.5– 2.0) mm thick S.S. sheet, A drain valvein the bottom of the tank. The apparatus consists of a circular cylindrical perspex tank of (30 – 35) cm dia. and (40 – 45) cm height. Four circumferential jets placed along the circumference. A pointer gauge (40– 45) cm long to measure the depth of vortex formation at various points. The whole set up is mounted on a stand. , Heleshaw Apparatus - Structure housing – Mild Steel, Sump tank (S.S.), Drain valves of Gunmetal, Strong M.S. stand. , Surge Apparatus - Self contained Water Circulation Unit. Pump giving adequate flow for meaningful experiments, Capacity of water – (140 – 145) litre. Approx Electrical supply - Single phase, 0.5 H.P. Cap, Space saver as collecting tank is mounted over the sump tank, Space requirement: Floor area 6.5 m x 0.6 m x 2.3 m approx. , Digital Infiltrometer- (Double Ring Infiltrometer) Apparatus - The apparatus consists of two M.S. rings size (30 – 35) cm & (60 – 65) cm dia. with (30 – 35) cm height, two plastic tanks and solenoid valves controlled by the data logger.
