After completing all repair works in work shop CD, the grab shall be transported, from Cochin division to parking area of Q10 berth WI. | 3 | 1.02 | Repair and maintenance of spare grab at Work shop CD.:- Work involves:- All the jointing pins, pulleys etc. shall be removed, eased and lubricated properly. Edges of closing area of the bucket shall be welded / repaired properly to arrest the leak completely. The repair and maintenance of grab shall be carried out as per instruction of Engineer In Charge and also to ensure smooth operation of grab. Dismantling, repairing and maintenance of the spare grab shall be carried out as follows: 1] Dismantling arms and closing ropes. 2] Dismantling all pulleys. 3] Cleaning of the whole grab. 4] Cutting and removing all damaged plates, cutting edge of blade and Levelling of frame 5] Edge preparation for welding, 6] Assistance for machining jobs 7] Replacement of damaged structurals plates etc.. 8] Levelling of four arms. 9] Assembling of pulleys 10] Positioning of arms, setting the grab including looping / fixing of opening / closing ropes. Any machining work shall be arranged in work shop CD. | 4 | 1.03 | Hooking up and leak testing of grab :- Work involves:- Disconnect / remove the existing working grab from the ship unloader and keep safely at parking area of Q10 berth. Hook up the repaired grab to the ship unloader. The grab shall be tested with material for any leak and ensure leak proof.
