Welding of pipeline should conform to Radiography quality. 10% of the joints shall be radiograped and the cost of the same will be paid separately as per respective item etc. and as directed at site.\nNote: \na. Any repairs to the defective welding shall be made good at no extra cost. Re radiography of repaired joint shall also be at contractor's cost.\nb. The rates quoted also to include colour coding of pipelines as per Standard.\nThe pipeline is Externally Coated hense Painting is not required.The Following treatment is to be provided at joint.\ni) Apply a coat of primer (Coal Tar and solvent based primer) of density 0.90 to 0.95 gms/cm3 and viscosity of 1000-2000 centipoise (Pypkote primer manufacture by IWL or its equivalent) at the rate of 100 gms/sq.m. The primer shall be allowed to dry until the solvent evaporates and the surface becomes tacky.\nii) Pypkote AW 4mm tape is wound around the pipe in spiral fashion and bonded completely to the primer coated surface of the pipe by thermo fusion process and with recommended overlaps as per manufacturers’ specifications.
