Description :Manufacture and Supply of Plate Screw of (for use with dowel) conforming to IRS Specification No.\r16-81 with latest amendment if any. The screws shall be manufactured from steel conforming to grade\rdesignation E 250 Quality A as laid down in Table 1 & Table 2 of IS: 2062- 2011 %u201CHot Rolled Medium and\rHigh Tensile Structural Steel-Specification%u201D. The screws shall be supplied in galvanized condition only.\rGalvanizing shall be carried out as per IS: 2629- 85 %u201CRecommended practice for Hot Dip Galvanizing of\rIron and Steel%u201D. The coating of the galvanized screws shall conform to the requirements of testing and\rinspecting stipulated at Clause 6.1, 6.2, 6.3 and 6.4.2 of IS: 2629- 85 and minimum average weight of coating\rshall be 300 g/m2 .The galvanized coating of any screw found not in conformity with the requirement of clause\r2.2.1 shall be rejected.- The screws shall be manufactured from a single piece, without welding. The head shall be\rformed by upsetting the bar when hot. The head shall be concentric and square with the shank, within a tolerance\rof 0.8mm and 1.20mm respectively and shall not show any defect after having been finished. The threads which\rmay be hot rolled shall be regular and the end of the shank sheared and machine-finished. General requirements\rrelating to the supply of screws shall conform to IS: 1387- 93 %u201CGeneral requirements for the supply of\rmetallurgical materials.%u201DThe dimensions of galvanized screws shall conform to the dimensions and\rtolerances shown on the drawing(s) to be supplied by the Purchaser. For the galvanized screws, the stated\rpermissible variations apply after galvanizing. The screw shall be free from all harmful defects. All fins and burrs\rshall be trimmed. The trimming shall be carried out so as not to produce tear in metal or leave roughness on the\rcontact surfaces. The head shall show no folds of metal particularly at the point of junction with the shank. The\rthreads shall be clean, uniform and full. Screws having incorrect pitch, threads crushed and also the screws\rhaving shanks bent, conical or oval shall not be accepted. Note:-Material should strictly comply to the given\rspecifications. in case of any deviations, the materials may be rejected on suppliers own risk and cost.
