It Also Includes , Among Others , Noise Dosimeter Which Is Used To Measure The Noise Exposure Of A Person . 1 General Requirements: A . A Noise/Sound Level Meter ( Noise Dosimeter ) Must Be Conform Quality As Per Dgms Circular ( Approval ) No . 03 Dated 02 . 05 . 2016 . B . The Noise/Sound Level Meter For Use In Explosive Atmosphere Of Mine Shall Confirm To Test Requirements Of Is/Iec 60079-0:2004 ( General Requirements Of Electrical Apparatus For Use In Explosive Gas Atmosphere ) And Is/Iec 60079-1111:2006 ( Equipment Protection By Intrinsic Safety For Explosive Atmosphere ) Of The Bureau Of Indian Standards Or Equivalent And Valid International Standards Under Iecex Certification Scheme/ Atex Directives . The Latest Standard Will Prevail Over The Above . 2 Specification: The Specification Of The Noise/Sound Level Meter Shall Confirm To The Applicable Clauses Of Is 15575 ( Part 1 ) Of The Bureau Of Indian Standards Or Iec 61252/En 61252 Or Their Revised Versions . 3 Testing: Samples Of The Noise/Sound Level Meter Shall Be Subjected To Tests As Aforesaid Standards Or Their Revised Versions At Laboratory / Test House Prescribed In The Dgms Approval Policy , 2015 Of Dgms As Amended From Time To Time And Pass The Tests The Tests As Per The Above Standards . As Per Para 6 . 8 Of Dgms Approval Policy Test Report Issued By Government Approved Laboratory /Cimfr/Erda/Cpri/Ertl/Ism May Accepted . In Addition To This Test Reports Of A Test House Accredited By Nabl May Also Be Accepted , Subject To Confirmation Of Its Ability To Conduct Tests In Pursuance With Prescribed Nation/International Standards/Dgms Testing Protocol , And The Test House In Not A Part Of Any Equipment Manufactures Testing Facility . 4 Marking: The Noise/Sound Level Meter Shall Be Marked With The Manufacturers Name , Registered Trade Mark Or Both , Class , Standard And Date Of Manufacture . 5 A: The Manufacture Shall Submit The Copies Of Such A Valid Certificate ( S ) And Test Report ( S ) Mentioned In The Aforesaid Para To Facilitate Use Of Noise/Sound Level Meter Manufactured By Them B . The Interval Of Periodic Calibration Of The Instrument Shall Be Specified By The Manufacturer . 6 Miscellaneous: A : The Chief Inspector Of Mines Or In Inspector Of Mines May Inspect , Check And Examine The Manufacturing Facilities At Any Time And Get Sample Tested During The Course Of Inspection Or Send Such Samples For Testing At Any Prescribed Test House Laboratories At The Cost Of The Manufacturer . B: It Should Give Digital Reading And It Should Be Able To Measure The Noise In Db ( A ) Unit As Well As Personnel Exposure/Dose Of Noise . C: It Should Be Portable And Robust In Design To Withstand The Impact Of Inadvertent Fall From Hand Of The User . D: It Should Be Fit For Use In The Underground As Well As On Surface . E: The Manufacture Must Have A Service Facility For Repairing And Availability Of Supply Of Spares Parts Till The Entire Operational Life Of Instrument . F: The Firm Must Arrange Demonstration For Use Of Instrument At Unit Level . Necessary Technical Training To The Concerned Employees Should Be Given By The Suppliers At Side On Commissioning Of Instrument .
