    Procurement Of Planting Materials Under Lower Thamirabarani Sub Basin, Thoothukudi District Under Tniamp 2018-19 - Guava layers Layers in pot, or poly bags more than 2 feet height. TC Banana 1. Plant should be free from all viral diseases and confirmed through virus indexing. 2. True to type. (No admixture). 3. A well hardened plant of 25-35 cm height and a pseudostem circumference of 5.0-6.0 cm after 60 days of hardening. 4.Plant with 5-6 photo– synthetically active leaves and inter foliar space less than 5.0cm. 5. Plant approximately with 25-30 active roots at the end of secondary hardening stage. 6. The length of active roots of 15 cm with a good number of secondary roots. 7. The polybag size of 20.0 X16 cm (minimum) with potting media filled to ¾ full of the bag. 8. plantlets should be free from any visual symptoms of leaf spot and physical deformations. 9. plantlets should be free from the presence of root pathogens like Fusarium, Erwinia rot and nematodes. Random checking of roots is very essential at the time of procurement. 10. Those exhibiting abnormal growth must be discarded. 11. Off type should not exceed more than 5%
