The Subject Of The Competition Process Is The Development Of A Building Concept For The Establishment Of A Lookout Tower On The Sophienhöhe In The Rhenish Area. The Central Project Natural Experience Sophienhöhe Aims To Further Develop The Recultivated Heap Of The Hambacher Open -Cast Mine Into A Unique Natural Destination. Reated Up Since 1978, The Sophienhöhe Has Grown To 20 Km² By 2030 And Overrides The Stock Market Landscape By Over 200 Meters. With Around 90 % Forested Area, Many Rare Animal And Plant Species And More Than 120 Kilometers, It Is Already A Popular Destination. In 2023, A Variety Of Different Measures Were Developed In The Structural And Usage Concept Sophien Height In Order To Upgrade The Heap For The Resident, Guests And Flora And Fauna Alike And At The Same Time To Direct The Visitor In The Sense Of Nature Conservation.
