Request for proposals for Agriculture Trainers Proposals will be accepted until 5:00 PM [August 4, 2025], delivered via email solely to procurement@careliban.org, no later than the above specified date. Overview CARE established its presence in Lebanon in 2006 and has been responding to the Syrian Crisis since late 2012. Among CAREs key imperatives is putting people it serves first through implementing cutting edge programming in areas it operates. CARE currently carries out activities in Beirut, Mount Lebanon, Akkar, North Lebanon, South Lebanon, and the Beqaa Valley. CARE implements both emergency and development projects contributing to livelihood, food security, protection, gender, shelter, and water, sanitation, and hygiene. It targets the most vulnerable people and populations, both host communities and refugees. Over the course of 8 years, it has supported over half a million beneficiaries. In Lebanon, CAREs program strategy for the upcoming years will focus on strengthening and expanding its emergency response and capacity to provide basic assistance services while pursuing development projects in areas of food security and livelihood support, gender, and protection. CARE intends to maintain its presence in all areas of Lebanon. Objectives The objective of this consultancy is to design and deliver practical, context-specific training sessions to farmers, cooperatives, and agricultural workers. The training will enhance knowledge and skills in: Post-crisis crops recovery strategies and restoration of burned orchards Safe handling and mitigation of white phosphorus contamination and debris in agricultural lands Debris management and soil rehabilitation techniques Water and irrigation management for recovery and resilience Financial and market resilience strategies during recovery periods JOB RESPONSIBILITIES The Trainer will: Deliver 20 training sessions for a minimum of 10 group ( each groups 20 participant) of farmers and workers groups in the South of Lebanon. (each training session is approximately 8 hours- 4 hours theoretical and 4 hours practical) Include interactive, hands-on approaches, field demonstrations, and case studies relevant to the Lebanese context. Provide a post-training evaluation report summarizing: - Participant feedback - Key lessons learned - Recommendations for follow-up support Profile The expert Should have the following qualifications: 1. Proven technical expertise in agriculture, climate adaptation, and post-crisis recovery of agricultural lands. 2. Demonstrated experience in at least three or more of the following areas: - Crop recovery and orchard restoration - Safe handling of contamination and debris in agriculture - Agricultural debris management and soil rehabilitation - Water and irrigation management - Financial literacy and market resilience for farmers 3. Extensive knowledge of the Lebanese agricultural context and climate/conflict challenges. 4. At least 7 years of experience working in agricultural training, capacity building, or extension services. 5. Experience working with the Ministry of Agriculture in Lebanon (e.g., developing guidelines, delivering farmer training, or participating in national agricultural programs). 6. Strong skills in training facilitation and participatory approaches, preferably with farmers, workers and cooperatives. 7. Preferablly situated in the following areas or near them: South ( Bent Jbeil,Hassbaya,Marjayoun,Nabatiye) Baalbeck 8. Ability to develop and deliver materials in Arabic (mandatory) and English (preferred). 9. Ability to work independently and in a team. Proposals will be accepted until 5:00 PM [August 4, 2025], delivered via email solely to procurement@careliban.org, no later than the above specified date. Any proposals received after this date and time will not be accepted. All proposals must be signed by an official agent or representative of the company submitting the proposal. If the organization submitting a proposal must outsource or contract any work to meet the requirements contained herein, this must be clearly stated in the proposal. Additionally, all costs included in proposals must be all-inclusive to include any outsourced or contracted work. Any proposals which call for outsourcing or contracting work must include a name and description of the organizations being contracted. All costs must be itemized to include an explanation of all fees and costs. Contract terms and conditions will be negotiated upon selection of the winning bidder for this RFP. All contractual terms and conditions will be subject to review by the CARE legal department, and will include scope, budget, schedule, and other necessary items pertaining to the project. You must respond to every subsection including statement, question, and/or instruction without exception. Any verbal information obtained from, or statements made by representatives of CARE shall not be construed as in any way amending this RFP. Only such corrections or addenda as are issued in writing by CARE to all RFP participants shall be official. CARE will not be responsible for verbal instructions.
