The Climate-Resilient Wash And Livelihoods Package For Resilient Somali Landscapes Project Aims To Strengthen The Livelihoods And Resilience Of Vulnerable Agrarian And Agro-Pastoralist People By Protecting And Restoring Key Natural Resources And Wash Services In Agrarian, Pastoral, And Agropastoral Areas Through Community-Led Actions And Improving Market Access For Key Rural Value Chains. One Of The Project Outcomes Is That The Livelihoods Of 25,434 People Are Strengthened Through The Stabilization And Restoration Of Pastoral, Agropastoral, And Agrarian Areas. The Project Conducted A Participatory Evaluation In The Target Villages. One Of The Key Challenges That The Participatory Evaluation Recommended Is The Lack Of Storage For The Fodder. This Can Lead To Post-Harvest Losses And Decreased Productivity For Agrarian And Agro-Pastoralists. To Achieve This, The Project Established Participatory Landscape Restoration Sites Through Fodder Value Chain Groups In Abdi Farah And Dhoobawayne Communities To Enhance Feed Storage And Reduce Post-Harvest Losses, Promote Sustainable Fodder Production, As Well As Improve The Livelihoods Of Community Members Through An Effective Fodder Storage Unit. Due To These Problems, Welthungerhilfe (Whh) Is Planning To Construct Fodder Storage Units In Abdi Farah And Dhobowayne Villages Under The Odwayne And Ainabo Districts Respectively, Bringing An End To Years Of Stress And Difficulties For The Residents. The Fodder Storage Will Prove To Be A Reliable Holding Area For The Bales Of Fodder Harvested By Farmers In The Villages From Season To Season. The Feed Storages Will Bring A Sigh Of Relief For Somaliland Communities. It Will Not Only Be Able To Hold Their Fodder For Months But Will Also Keep It Protected From Extreme Weather Elements, While At The Same Time Maintaining Its Quality.
