Tenders are invited for GT17-681SD Interface between Space Traffic and Air Traffic Management Units (Expro+) During space launches and controlled re-entries, the airspace overflown orpotentially affected by contingency events are often closed to avoid collision withair traffic and associated risks. In case of uncontrolled re-entry events, thecoordination mechanism islimited to the provision of information on request, butairspace warnings are seldom issued.Standardised information exchange products exist for space traffic coordinationmeans, generally tailored to on-orbit actors and prediction systems for re-entrytraffic. In addition, launch service providers work with largely proprietary dataformats to act on nominal and contingency launch scenarios where those couldaffect the Earth surface and air traffic. These ad hoc solutions are acceptable forlow frequency of launch and re-entry traffic in a restricted well-known communitybut are ill-suited to the increased usage of space, in particularly low earth orbits, driven by the deployment of large constellations and small satellites with shortorbital lifetimes. Moreover, in case of contingency, i.e. break-up of the spacecraftor launch vehicle, the predictive capability is limited and not necessarily timely. These activity aims to improve the existing solutions to minimise the datageneration time and shortening the data provision chain with a particular focusto ensure that the data format can be linked with models that tackle contingencysituations, i.e. to predict 3D-temporal maps with time dependency of areasaffected. It is not intended to define new requirements for air traffic systems, butto translate the practices of space community to the needs of the air trafficcommunity Tender Link : https://esastar-publication-ext.sso.esa.int/ESATenderActions/filter/open
