Tenders are invited for Promoting Female Employment for Africas Green Transformation (WE4D) (Tanzania) The Employment Promotion for Women for the Green Transformation in Africa (WE4D) programme is a multi-donor initiative running from January 2023 to December 2027. It is commissioned by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development and co-funded by the European Union and the Norwegian Government. Building upon the earlier Employment and Skills for Development in Africa (E4D) programme, WE4D is implemented in six African countriesKenya, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, Tanzania, and Ugandawith the primary goal of improving employment and economic outcomes for women, particularly in enterprises contributing to the green transformation. The programme also prioritizes youth and persons with disabilities. The strategy of WE4D involves forming partnerships with public, private, and civil society actors to enhance job opportunities in environmentally and socially sustainable sectors. The initiative supports both individual and multi-actor partnerships to deliver projects that yield tangible employment outcomes and transformative change. Project activities focus on skills development and enterprise development, targeting high-impact sectors such as renewable energy, eco-tourism, circular economy, sustainable agriculture, blue economy, and green business models within traditional industries like construction and logistics. In Tanzania, the programme currently implements twelve diverse projects, ranging from small-scale business coaching for 300 entrepreneurs to large-scale basic skills training for 2,000 beneficiaries. As the project portfolio expands, effective monitoring and evaluation are essential. To this end, WE4D has developed a regional results-based M&E system that aggregates data across its partner countries.
