The Ministry Of Agriculture And Food Is Seeking Proposals From Qualified Consulting Firms Or Research Teams To Conduct Afeasibility Study On Methane Capture And Flaring Technologiesfor Manure Storage Systems On Dairy Farms In British Columbia.This Procurement Is For The Delivery Of A Comprehensive Study That Will Evaluate The Technical, Economic, And Environmental Feasibility Of Implementing Methane Gas Capture And Combustion Systems As A Greenhouse Gas (Ghg) Mitigation Strategy In The Dairy Sector. The Study Will Explore Both Retrofitting Existing Manure Storage Systems And Designing New Infrastructure With Integrated Gas Capture Capabilities.The Successful Proponent Will Be Responsible For:Conducting A Jurisdictional Scan Of Similar Initiatives, Regulatory Frameworks, And Carbon Credit Programs.Engaging With Key Stakeholders Including Dairy Producers, Technology Providers, And Relevant Government Agencies.Collecting Baseline Data On Current Manure Management Practices And Methane Emissions.Evaluating Technical Options For Both Retrofitting And New System Design, Including The Use Of Waste Heat To Enhance Methane Recovery.Performing A Cost-Benefit Analysis For The Different Technical Options And Assessing Potential Revenue From Carbon Credits Or Energy Recovery.Estimating Ghg Emission Reductions For Each Approach.Identifying Funding, Incentive, And Partnership Opportunities To Support Implementation.Developing Communication Materials And Sharing Findings Through Reports, Factsheets, And Presentations.The Goal Of This Project Is To Generate Actionable Insights And Practical Guidance To Support The Adoption Of Low-Emission Manure Management Technologies In Bc’S Dairy Industry. The Anticipated Project Duration Is 7 Months, With Work Expected To Begin On September 14, 2025.This Opportunity Is Ideal For Teams With Expertise In Agricultural Waste Management, Methane Capture Technologies, Ghg Accounting, And Stakeholder Engagement.
