Processors Who Are Looking To Enter Or Expand Into Both B.C. Institutional Food Service And Retail Markets Channels And Beyond. Buyers From B.C. Institutions Will Range From Health Authorities, Post- Secondary Food Services And K-12 School Food Coordinators.For The First Year, These Events Are Envisioned To Support Food Businesses To Learn About The Institutional Food Service Market Channel And Increase Their Readiness To Diversify Sales Into This Channel. The Envisioned Pitch Events Should Support Increasing The Market Readiness Of Food Businesses By Increasing Their Knowledge Of And Capacity To Meet The Needs Of The Institutional Food Service Market By Connecting Directly With Institutional Food Service Decision Makers. Events Should Also Include Institutional Food Service Decision Makers And Bring Value To Their Institutions (Ex. By Increasing Their Awareness Of Food Products Available To Them). All Product Pitch Events Should Be Co-Designed And Executed With Active Collaboration With The Ministry And Partner Institutions To Ensure Products, Event Format, And Participant Follow-Up Fully Support Feed Bc Objectives And Institutional Food Service Needs.Activities The Service Provider Should Be Prepared To Provide May Include, But Are Not Limited To:Co-Developing, Marketing, And Facilitating A Fair Selection Process To Identify And Secure Food Business Participants That Have Products Of Interest To B.C. Public Institutions, Particularly Post-Secondary, Health Institutions And K-12 School Districts. Developing And Offering Pre-Event Training And Preparation Coaching For Participating Food Businesses To A) Learn About Institutional Food Service Market Channels And Supply Chain Buyers And B) Develop An Effective ‘Product Pitch’ For Institutional Food Service Decision Makers. Training To Include Advice On Sell Sheets, Marketing, Market Diversification And Support With Presentations. Co-Developing, Managing All Logistics Involved In Event Preparation And Delivery, And Facilitating The Pitch Events That:Create A Valuable, Supportive Environment For All Participants.Offer An In-Person Experience. Offer Pre-Recorded Video Pitches From Participating Businesses For Remote Registered Institutional Partners. Result In Increased Market Awareness For Both Participating Food Businesses And Institutional Food Service Decision Makers. Working Collaboratively With The Ministry And Its Funding Partners To Secure All Appropriate Communications Approvals Before Publicly Releasing Event Promotional Materials. Co-Developing And Implementing Event Evaluations That Meet The Needs Of The Ministry And Its Funding Partners. Presenting Back To The Ministry Key Learnings To Improve Future Iterations Of This Market Readiness Concept.The Events Will Be Adapted To Different Audiences Over The Three Years Of The Contract, Ranging From Institutional Partners From Health Authorities And Post-Secondary And K-12; Supply Chain And Potentially Other Markets. Budget: The Total Available Budget For This Contract Over Three Years Is $450,000, To Include All Eligible Training And Event Related Expenses (E.G. Contractor Travel, Venue Rental, Catering, Technology, Sample Shipments, Videos Development Including Necessary Media, Additional Event Support Staff, Etc.).
