The Stedelijk Sportcentrum Wembley Is Situated In The North Of Kortrijk, In The District Of Heule, And Functions Not Only As A Sports Center, But Also As A Green Lung With A Park Function, In Other Words A Sports Park. The Sports Center Focuses - In Addition To Football - Especially On Individual Sports: Gymnastics, Martial Arts And Athletics. To Support This, A Service Building Is Central To The Domain. Outside There Are Various Outdoor Sports Grounds. There Is Also A Playground And A Parking For 400 Cars. Masterplan It Is The Ambition Of The City To Further Expand The Wembley Sports Center To The 2Nd Top Sports Site Of The City, In The North Of Kortrijk, By Analogy The Top Sports Site Lange Munte In The South. A Master Plan Was Drawn Up For The Sportcampus And Its Environment As A Framework For Future Developments In The Project Area So That An Urban Sports Park Can Be Expanded That Is Connected To Its Environment. The Master Plan Was Made Up Of The Following Spatial Principles: - Green Backbone As A Connecting Element - Green Lobes And Transition Zones To Sports Rooms - Sports Rooms - Clustered Parking - Buildings Clusteren The Assignment The Assignment Includes The Design Of A Future Sports Complex On The Site Of The Stedelijk Sportcentrum Wembley (Kortrijk). The Current Sports Building - Consisting Of A Hall From The 1970S And An Adjacent Facility Building From 2000 - No Longer Meets Contemporary Requirements In Terms Of Sports Technical Infrastructure, Comfort, Sustainability And Functionality. Given The Outdated State Of The Whole And The Ambition To Expand Wembley Into The Second Top Sport Site Of The City, A Thorough Redevelopment Of The Site Is Intended. The New Or Redeveloped Building Must Be Planted Within A Defined Construction Field (Indicated By White Dotted Line On The Aerial Photo). There Is A Natural Grass Football Field Within This Construction Field, Which Will Be Redesigned As An Artificial Grass Pitch In The Context Of This Assignment. This Offers The Opportunity To Define The Relationship Between Sportgebouw And Football Field, As Well As The Relationship With The Athletics Track, The Cycling And Walking Connections, The Speelzone, Etc. The Effective Construction Of The New Football Field Is Not Part Of The Assignment, But Its Positioning And Spatial Integration Is.
