Expression of Interest for Partnership with Local and National Civil Society Organizations (LANA). Region: Addis Ababa Action against Hunger (ACF) is a global humanitarian and development network founded in 1979 with a vision of ending world hunger. We have a vast global reach and operate as an international network comprised of four independent operational Headquarters in France, Spain, India, and the United States and four enabling business lines in Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, and Italy. We work in over 55 countries around the world, prioritizing life-saving Emergency Nutrition assistance, strengthening health and nutrition sector coordination and learning systems, and facilitating adoption of Humanitarian-Development-Peace triple nexus approaches through integration of innovative immediate and long- term responses, by working with a wide spectrum of stakeholders at local, national and global levels. We innovate solutions, advocate for change, and reach 24 million people every year with proven hunger prevention and treatment programs. As a global nonprofit that works across 50 countries, our 8.300 dedicated staff members partner with communities to address the root causes of hunger, including climate change, conflict, Inequity, and emergencies. We strive to create a world free from hunger, for everyone, for good. Ethiopia Country Program Action Against Hunger has been operational in Ethiopia since 1984, responding to both chronic and acute needs through Nutrition- Specific and Nutrition-Sensitive, multisectoral programs (Nutrition. Health, food security and livelihood, WASH, and Protection). During 2024/25 Fiscal year. Ethiopia Mission managed over $59 million in grants under Emergency, Resilience, development, Advocacy, and Research funding portfolios. Currently employs 700 fixed term National staffs based in 8 Operational field offices which are strategically geo- positioned across six (6) regions (Tigray. Amhara. Oromia, Gambella. BGR, Somall and recently expanding to Afar Region). We reach 3,086.641 direct beneficiaries affected by natural and man-made disasters through integrated multisector interventions during the 2024 budget year. We have active programs in 15 Zones, 46 Woredas and 4 Refugee Camps in 6 regions of Ethiopia. Our main donors in Ethiopia are USG (USAID/BHA and PRM). ECHO, Sida, NORAD, France (CDCS and CIAA), Italy (AICS), Canada (GAC), Germany (GFFO and GIZ). UNOCHA/EHF. UNHCR, UNICEF, WFP. As well as other private donors (MCC, EDESIA. Fidnam International Charity Foundation, and Band-Aid/UK). Action Against Hunger Ethiopia Mission as part of its Country strategic plan and Partnership Policy (2020) and is striving to promote the localization Agenda by forging partnerships with local and national actors (Civic society organization, academic and research institutions, including indigenous community based organizations) for its ongoing effort to combat Hunger and malnutrition and contribute to the attainment of Nutrition, health. Food security and WASH SDG targets by 2030 through increased leadership and engagement of local and National actors. Action Against Hunger-Local Partnership Objectives Action Against Hunger Local Partnership Policy goal is to partner with local and national actors wherever possible to enhance local leadership and ownership of humanitarian and development programs Action Against Hunger acknowledges the indispensable role of Local actors and prioritizes strengthening the capacity, leadership, and systems of actors while leaming from local and national actors. The policy looks to ensure that local partnerships always add value and complement local and national actors work under framework of National and Global commitments and Principles of humanitarian and development endeavors. To this end ACFS local partnership aim is that the needs of affected communities are more appropriately, effectively, efficiently and timely addressed while enabling local and national actors to be better prepared for their role as frontline humanitarian and development responders in their respective communities. Action Against Hunger is also aligning with the UN Humanitarian System Reset and Reform Initiatives focusing on scaling up locally led and people-centered approach to Humanitarian action.
