This Opportunity Is By Invitation Only To Firms Awarded Under Rfso 21-2002.The City Is Seeking To Further Advance The Planning, Design, And Development Of The Skyview Civic Site In The Northeast Quadrant Of Calgary. The Proposed Site Is In The Growing Community Of Skyview Ranch. It Includes An 11.1 Acre Municipal Reserve (Mr) For Schools, Parks, And Community Use (S-Spr) And A 1.7 Acre Area For Direct Control (Multi-Residential – At-Grade Housing/Special Purpose – Recreation). The City Initiated The Process To Purchase The Direct Control Area; Both Land Areas Will Require A Subdivision Application And Land Use Redesignation (Lur). The Mr Area Of The Site Contains An Abandoned Well That Has Been Capped. Recreation And Social Programs Business Unit Decided In Early 2025 To Re-Evaluate Its The Recreational And Cultural Functional Programming For The Area. To That Effect, The City Conducted Engagement Activities In The Spring Of 2025 To Validate And Update The Recreational And Cultural Activities The Local Neighbourhoods Would Like To See On The Site. It Also Includes Gathering New Data Such As A Parking Study And The Development Of A Preliminary Optimal Site Layout Focusing On Recreational Amenities This Information Will Be Included In A Report Scheduled For Release By October 31, 2025. The Findings From This Report Will Help Shape The Skyview Civic Site Program And The Implementation Of The Master Plan. Planned Amenities For The Program Include A Fitness And Recreation Aquatic Center, Twin Arenas, And Arts And Culture Spaces.
