Bids Are Invited For Firehall And Training Ground

The District Of Tofino Is Planning To Build A New Fire Hall And Training Ground At 610 Industrial Way That Will Serve As A Replacement For The Existing Firehall On Second Street. The Fire Hall Will Need To House 4 Apparatus Bays, Offices, Training Room, Turn Out Gear Storage, Decontamination Facilities, Maintenance Facilities, Laundry, Emergency Operations Center, Fitness Room, A Pole And Firefighter Lounge. The Adjacent Training Yard Will Add A Concrete Pad For Auto Extrication And Drainage With Environmental Protection. A Training Structure May Already Be In Place When This Project Starts.An Indicative Design Process Has Been Completed For This Project To Identify The Needs And Requirements For The New Fire Hall And Training Ground In Relation To The Proposed Building Site. The Drawings And Details Will Be Attached.The District Of Tofino Is Considering A Design Build Approach For This Project. Funding Has Not Yet Been Secured. The Building Site Is Currently Materials Storage For Public Works But Shall Be Cleared To Bare Land Prior To Project Start.
