This Multi-Year Program Is Essential For Maintaining A Five-Year Data Currency Level Across The Province, Supporting Informed Land-Use Decision-Making, Planning, Policy Development, And Regulatory Processes Within The Government Of Alberta. The Updated Datasets Are Also Openly Distributed To Benefit External Stakeholders, Including Industry, Academia, And Environmental Organizations.Specifically, This Program Aims To:Annually Update Approximately 1,000 Townships Of Base Access (E.G., Roads, Cutlines, Railways, Bridges) And Facilities (E.G., Industrial Plants, Gravel Pits, Airports, Open-Pit Mining Operations) Geospatial Data.Integrate The Latest Available Ortho-Rectified Satellite Imagery And Supplemental Information To Accurately Reflect Current Landscape Changes Due To Economic Development And Natural Events. Specific Imagery Sources And Acquisition Timelines Will Be Provided For Each Update Cycle.Enhance The Accuracy And Completeness Of Geospatial Layers In High-Priority Areas, Determined By Development Activity, Data Age, And Various Ministry Program Area Inputs.Deliver Updated, High-Quality Geospatial Datasets In Standardized And Accessible Formats (E.G., Shapefiles, Geodatabase, Web Services) For Government Clients And Decision Support Systems On An Ongoing Annual Basis.
