Work Detail
Expression of Interest are invited for Development of Remedial Education Approach for Foundational Learning in Eswatini The World Bank is seeking a firm to support Eswatinis Ministry of Education and Training in developing and piloting a remedial education approach for primary school students struggling with foundational literacy and numeracy skills. Despite implementing Free Primary Education in 2010, only 58.6% of children aged 7-14 achieve adequate reading skills, with persistent regional quality disparities. The 9-month project, starting August 2025 and funded through the Accelerator 2.0 grant, will adapt the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) methodology to the Eswatini context. The assignment involves four key phases: diagnostic and design (including stakeholder consultations and remediation model development), pilot implementation in 50 schools with teacher training and technical support, monitoring and evaluation with baseline and endline assessments, and policy engagement to develop a national scale-up strategy.
