The Ministry Of Mining And Critical Minerals Is Seeking Proposals For A Qualified Contractor To Digitize Information From Bc Geological Survey (Bcgs) Geoscience Data Archives And Transform It Into Digital Formats To Be Used For Analysis In A Range Of Critical Minerals Initiatives.This Involve Two Primary Streams Of Work:Indexing And Scanning Of Hardcopy Documents: Includes Culling And Sorting Of Physical Documents To Assess Their Relevance, Scanning (Content Varies From Loose Pages, Bound Books To Oversize Maps) And Indexing Documents (Specifications Provided By Bcgs). Digital Information Capture: From Documents (E.G. Pdf, Tif Files) Provided By The Bcgs The Contractor Will Extract And Rearrange Information Into Spreadsheet Templates (Defined And Provided By The Bcgs) And Verify Data Integrity (E.G., Ensuring That Staged Data Matches The Content Of The Original Document). This Requires The Use Of Optical Character Recognition (Ocr) And Occasionally Gis Software To Georeferenced Locations From Maps.The Term Of The Contract Will Be For A Three (3) Year Term With An Option To Extend In The Sole Discretion Of The Province For One (1) Additional Twelve (12) Month Period.
