Expression of Interest for Monitoring and Evaluation Consultancy for GIZ SHIR and CFSP Projects in Baidoa. GIZ Somalia implements a number of projects in Baidoa. One of them is the Promoting Climate Resilient Food Security in southern Somalia (CFSP) project, funded by BMZ, which was launched in October 2023. The project seeks to improve the preconditions for implementing climate adaptation strategies that enhance food security. The initiative focuses on three key fields of action: Climate-Smart Agriculture & Risk Management: Improving access to nutrient-rich foods for vulnerable households. Income Generation: Enhancing the financial resources of households in target communities. Institutional Capacity for Affordable & Safe Drinking Water: Strengthening institutions to manage safe drinking water supplies for target communities. The consultant will conduct periodic spot checks with GIZs partners in Baidoa, collect qualitative and quantitative data, conduct monitoring, evaluation, and documentation exercise to assess the activities implemented by the SHIR and CFSP projects. The findings will be used for adaptive project management including mitigating any risks and improving quality of similar implementation in the area. The consulting team will work closely with the project technical team based in Baidoa, with the consultant experts reporting directly to Monitoring and Evaluation and Communications Advisor in Baidoa.
