Building Site [Weather 01.011.1.001] Is Located In North Karelia, Tohmajärvi, Near Värtsilä. There Are 2 Areas To Be Dredged In The Design Area, Of Which Part 1 Has A Wider Western Open Water Mosaic, Sub-Area 2 The Area To Be Converted Into Open Water. In Addition, The Southeastern Edge Of The Design Area (Sub-Area 3) Is Restored To The Existing Ditch And The Eastern Edge Of The Ditch Is Bevelled Towards The Meadow And A New Ditch Is Dug. The Procedures Add Open Water By Digging Out The Floating Moss, Luhta And Aquatic Vegetation, As Well As Decayed Peat, And By Establishing Mud And Dry Islands. The Bottom Sediment Is Not Dredged Anywhere Other Than The Landing Pool. The Contract Includes The Construction Of All Areas. The Planned Measures Will Add New Breeding And Rest Areas For Waterfowl, Logs And Tiirs. Other Species That Live On Wetlands Are Likely To Benefit From The Measures, And New Ways Of Protecting The Lösöönlahti Gulf Of The Catchment Area Will Be New.
