We Are Proposing To Construct A New Concrete Sleeper Production Facility At Portlaoise Rail And Sleeper Depot, Co Laois. The New Facility Will Automate A Number Of The Production Processes, Significantly Reducing Manual Labour Input And Substantially Increasing Annual Production. The Design Of The New Plant Layout Will Be Key To Achieving Our Objectives. The Successful Applicant Shall Supply A Detailed Design For The Factory Building, Automation Will Be Introduced Into Elements Of Each Of The Processes Outlined Below As A Minimum: • Operation Of Batching / Mixing Plant Including Temperature And Moisture Control • Movement Of Sleeper Moulds And Sleepers Throughout Factory By Conveyors Or Hoists • Mould Preparation • Filling Moulds With Concrete • Emptying Moulds • Curing Of Sleepers • Installing Tensioning System • Application Of Prestressing Force. The Key Objective Will Be Ensuring Optimal Flow From Start To Finish. The Selection Of The Proposed Machinery, Automated Motion Management Systems And The General Architecture And Internal Layout Must Be Optimally Adopted To The Manufacturing Process To Guarantee, Standardisation, Product Quality And Operational Efficiency In The Production Of Our Sleepers.
