Inspection Of Water Based Fire Safety Systems . The Correctional Service Canada (Csc) Is Required By Law To Ensure That Fire Protection Services In Csc Institutions Are Up To Date With Accurate Reporting Measures Taken. Csc Requires The Services Of An Experienced Third-Party Contractor To Ensure It Is Compliant With Health And Safety Requirements At Beaver Creek Institution. Objectives: The Contractor Must Perform Sprinkler Inspections, Fire Hydrant Flow Tests, Fire Hose And Cabinet Inspections, And Test Sprinkler Backflow Preventers, Pre-Action Systems And Fire Department Connections As Required Under Federal, Provincial, And Municipal Legislation. The Contractor Must Perform The Inspections, Testing, Maintenance And Certifications Annually, Semi –Annually And Quarterly Throughout The Calendar Year As Per Nfpa 25 Standards. Deliverables: • The Contractor Must Perform Inspections, Testing And Maintenance On The Following Water Based Fire Safety Systems At Beaver Creek Institution – Minimum And Medium As Per Nfpa 25 Standards: A) Sprinklers B) Sprinkler Back Flow Preventers C) Pre-Action Systems D) Fire Hydrants E) Fire Hose And Cabinets F) Fire Department Connections • The Contractor Must Provide Individual Deficiency Reports For Each Inspection And Testing (Quarterly, Semi-Annual, Annual) On The Water Based Fire Safety Systems At Beaver Creek Institution – Minimum And Medium As Per Nfpa 25 Standards (Please See 3.7.1 Deficiency Reports Below): A) Sprinklers B) Sprinkler Back Flow Preventers C) Pre-Action Systems D) Fire Hydrants E) Fire Hose And Cabinets F) Fire Department Connections • The Contractor Must Provide Individual Final Reports For Each Inspection And Testing (Quarterly, Semi-Annual, Annual) On The Water Based Fire Safety Systems At Beaver Creek Institution – Minimum And Medium As Per Nfpa 25 Standards (Please See 3.7.2 Final Reports Below): A) Sprinklers B) Sprinkler Back Flow Preventers C) Pre-Action Systems D) Fire Hydrants E) Fire Hose And Cabinets F) Fire Department Connections • The Contractor Must Supply All Tools, Labour, Materials And Mechanical Devices Necessary To Complete All Applicable Inspections, Testing And Maintenance Required To Obtain Certification Of The Water Based Fire Safety Systems At Beaver Creek Institution – Minimum And Medium. • The Contractor Must Have All Quarterly, Semi Annual And Annual Inspections Industry Regulated Testing And Applicable Certifications (Nfpa 25) Completed At The Expense Of The Contractor. • The Contractor Must Identify And Notify The Project Authority Of Any Repairs Required To Complete The Fire Alarm System Inspection And Certification. The Project Authority Will Then Arrange For Any Required Repairs Including Parts And Labour With The Proprietary Rights Holder Of The Fire Panel, If Required. • If Required, Any Inspection And Testing That Requires The Oem Proprietary Rights Holder Of The Fire Safety System (Edwards/Chubb) To Participate, The Contractor Is Responsible For Any Work And Associated Costs For Having The Oem Proprietary Rights Holder Assist In The Applicable Inspection And Testing. O Note: The Main Panel Is Located In The Mccp Area At The Medium And In The Duty Office At The Minimum. There Are Various Panels In The Institution That Connect To The Main Panel. • The Contractor Must Exercise Extreme Care When Testing Units Inter-Connected To Computer Rooms And Must Perform This Testing At The Advisement And In Close Coordination With The Project Authority And Csc Informatics Personnel. • The Contractor Must Ensure That All Inspected Systems Are Left In Working Order At The End Of The Contractor’S Workday. If The Contractor Cannot Leave A System In Working Order, The Contractor Must Notify The Chief Of Facilities Management Before The Contractor Leaves The Site, And The Contactor Must Ensure That There Are Alternative Arrangements In Place For Any Affected Systems. • The Contractor Must Silence The Alarm Bells System During Testing And Return The System To Operation After The Inspection Is Complete.
