Tenders are invited for Standardised De-Orbit Interface Definition for Leo Satcom-Class Spacecraft (Artes Fp 1a.130) Expro+. The objective of this activity is to define an active debris removal (ADR) interface standard that would allow third-party service providers to attach onto client satellites, thus enabling satellite operators to procure ADR as a service for their defunct satellites. A standardised interface that both ADR service providers and satellite manufacturers can design to, would help promote competition for such services, as well as avoid operators becoming dependent on a particular service provider. The interface should facilitate the non-cooperative rendezvous and capture of LEO telecom-class platforms at end-of-life. Ensuring that the interface can be produced with low recurring costs is therefore an important factor. Another key requirement is to define a standard that is sufficiently detailed to ensure cross-compatibility, but also allows both current and future ADR technologies to be used.
