Expression of Interest for Consultancy Service for Preparing Post Implementation Report and Conducting Project Impact Evaluation for Uma Oya Multipurpose Development Project Head Works Component of UOMDP is comprised of construction of two Roller Compact Concrete Dams at Puhulpola and Dyraaba in Welimada area; 3,718m long Link Tunnel between the two reservoirs; 15,446m long Headrace Tunnel; 618m high vertical pressure shaft; 150m high Surge Shaft; 120MW Underground Power Station; 3,600m long Tailrace Tunnel; 2,000m long main Access Tunnel to the Power Station and 22.7 km long Transmission Line for connecting generated power to the National Grid at Badulla Sub-Station , along with other associated works and provision of 9 MCM of drinking water for the Badulla District. Downstream component of UOMDP is to provide water to irrigate around 4500 ha of new land and to around 1500 ha of existing agricultural land in Moneragala District, and Provision of 30 MCM of drinking water and industrial water requirements in Moneragala and Hambantota Districts. Initial Contract period was 5 years. The completion date of Head Works was extended from time to time in number of stages due to various reasons and now the commissioning of the Head Works has been completed and Defects Notification period has been extended up to 30th September, 2025.
