Request for proposals for Surveillance Technical Specialist (Consultancy) Scope of Work Provide technical assistance to the implementation of STRIDES activities in consultation with the STRIDES Leadership at HQ and Kenya Technical Lead. Speciic proposed activities may include: o Evaluating and mapping existing infectious disease surveillance systems and networks, including specimen transport and referral, for viral hemorrhagic fever diseases, including Marburg Virus Disease (MVD), including identifying gaps. o Reviewing and updating training materials for laboratory personnel on Viral Hemorrhagic Fevers (VHFs), including MVD. o Supporting the MOH to develop/update a surveillance strategy for VHFs and other high-consequence pathogens with key biosafety and biosecurity considerations. o Reviewing and updating key surveillance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for VHFs, including MVD, sample handling, detection, and biohazardous waste disposal. Lead the development of concept notes, work plans, activity reports and other needbased key deliverables as advised by the supervisor. Ensure engagement with relevant key stakeholders in consultation with the FHI Kenya Country Rep/supervisor. Share new knowledge/evidence and best practices with the team, partners and host country counterparts. Review relevant technical deliverables for quality and relevance before sending them to FHI 360 HQ and USG. Provide programmatic coordination to the design and implementation of activities including inputs for budget development and monitoring. Coordinate logistic needs for project activities such as meetings and workshops with support from the country operations team. Lead development or presentations, updates, reports and other communications during the consultancy on topics s/he is working on.
