Bids Are Invited For Thin Section Services

The Ministry Of Mining And Critical Minerals (Mmcm) Is Seeking A Qualified Contractor Under This Request For Proposal To Provide Petrographic Thin Sections Of Rock Samples For Critical Minerals Analysis And Research. The Contractor Will Prepare Standard Covered And Polished Thin And Thick Sections And Double Polished Sections, Stain Rock Samples For Potassium Feldspar Identification, And Polish Slabs/Mounts Of Rock Samples Suitable For Subsequent Microscopic And Other Specialized Analyses Including The Use Of Microprobe, Laser Ablation, And Fluid Inclusion Techniques. Samples Need To Be Prepared Following Industry Standards And Be Of High Quality For Research-Level Detailed Analyses. Some Lapidary Preparation Of Samples (E.G., Trimming Of Rock Slabs; Epoxy Fragile Specimens) May Be Required And Petrographic Description Of Prepared Samples May Also Be Requested.This Contract Is Intended To Be In Place For A Period Of 3 Years From The Date Of Execution With 1 Option To Review At The Province’S Sole Discretion For A 1 Year Extension.
