Through this project, Lebanese youth will engage in the conservation of one historical site, The Citadel of Tripoli, promoting unity across diverse communities. The project includes three main activities: 1) restoring part of the Citadel, 2) training youth from different communities on restoration activities and employability skills to enhance their livelihoods, and 3) engaging in dialogue sessions on cultural heritage, social cohesion and youth leadership in a localized setting. To support the implementation of activity 3 of this project, the selected expert will be required to develop a comprehensive training package, including structure and content, focused on using cultural heritage as a tool for social cohesion and lead a 3-day Training of Trainers (ToT) for 12 youth facilitators. These facilitators will go on to deliver dialogue and capacity-building sessions in Tripoli, helping to strengthen social cohesion while linking it to Lebanons rich cultural heritage. The curriculum will be delivered by the facilitators over a period of 4 months, rhythm to be determined by the expert. Objective of the Assignment The expert will be responsible for the following: Develop a Training Package and Inform the Curriculum in Arabic and English: Create a detailed training package, including Learning Objectives, Schedule and Curriculum, a presentation and accompanying notes, on how to use cultural heritage as a tool to foster social cohesion. The modules will cover key topics such as: Definitions of social cohesion: key concepts and theory. The role of cultural heritage in building common ground. Approaches to utilizing shared history and heritage as connectors. Practical tools and methods for leading cultural heritage-based social cohesion initiatives.
